tdlfoto Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 On occasion I'm able to stretch out and engage in some personal projects. Last couple years I've been shooting a series of landscapes in the American Southwest. Prior to that seascapes in Cayman Islands. Then there are the smaller yet equally rewarding projects like portraits of my dying grandmother, and most recently during his Toronto stop, a portrait session with our very own El Presidente! It's always great to take what I've learned and apply it to projects where I have a personal attachment. A few weeks before Rob's visit I shot him a PM asking if he'd be interested in sitting for some portraits to which he replied that he was keen. Fast forward to the morning after the Toronto MegaHerf and you've got two hung over-ish men and my makeup artist friend doing her best to make it go away !LOL! I know it's been said many times already, but it's worth repeating. Thank you Rob for fostering such a fantastic community. Just look at what a fabulous get together we had at Mambo Lounge! As you rightly pointed out the cigars are the dot on the i. Since stumbling upon your site I've come to know (virtually and really) many great folks that I otherwise would not have. These portraits were my humble way of showing gratitude where I felt it is deserved. I hope you like them. Cheers the next five frames were in sequence: behind the scenes:
CanuckSARTech Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 WOW! Holy ****, Tony! Well done, man. Those look really, REALLY damn good! You actually make him look....regal, and....well...RESPECTABLE. WTF!!! LOL. Just kidding. Man, those do honestly look great. I'm thinkin' that I may have to hire you to do a full session with the family in the spring (something that my wife has always wanted to do, and something that we can do after the next addition to our family in the New Year). Those are just awesome, Tony. You definitely have a great knack for what you do - kudos on a job well done.

CBL Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Picture No. 6 looks pretty damn cool (Black and white one, where he's smoking) You should have taken this opportunity and get him dressed up in that Pirates of the Caribbean outfit and re-create his avatar
DblToro Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Looking good Prez. Posing is hard to do and a lot of coaching and pictures on the photographer's side as well as the poser to get the right shots. I did some with a buddy who is a pro photographer for some business photos. I was exhausted afterwards, it ain't that easy to look good, let alone in front of the lens, for me anyway, . Btw, the make up artist is cute too..........hehe, great work and quite a nice gesture on your part Tony, xllnt!
asmith Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 A touch of Photoshop on his guts wouldn't have gone astray!
