My son asked me this while fishing on the weekend. I love Brisbane, hate the cold. While I could easlily ensconce myself in a central or South American coastal village with a good cantina ....however, you need to assume you have the same responsibilities in life that you have now (family/work/schooling etc).

One choice?

Toss up between Buenos Aires and Cordoba.....Argentina.

Some of the friendliest people I have ever met were on the Greek islands, Rhodes/Cyprus etc and the island themselves are beautiful and steeped in history which is one of my follies. So probably there, although Canada has a lot of appeal, seems like Britain but from a parrellel universe from what I have seen
