My son asked me this while fishing on the weekend. I love Brisbane, hate the cold. While I could easlily ensconce myself in a central or South American coastal village with a good cantina ....however, you need to assume you have the same responsibilities in life that you have now (family/work/schooling etc).

One choice?

Toss up between Buenos Aires and Cordoba.....Argentina. :2thumbs:

Some of the friendliest people I have ever met were on the Greek islands, Rhodes/Cyprus etc and the island themselves are beautiful and steeped in history which is one of my follies. So probably there, although Canada has a lot of appeal, seems like Britain but from a parrellel universe from what I have seen :D

Amafli coast Italy or the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica (or the mountainous area just over from Arenal Volcano, near Chipira)

1, Somewhere on the coast in Northern California or in wine country, for a more realistic approach.

2. In a more "perfect world", somewhere on the coast of the Mediterranean. Maybe Southern France. Or Northern Italy.

Vancouver comes to mind. The endless of miles of beautiful wooded trails - a runner's paradise. Otherwise a quaint, picturesque village in Europe somewhere.

Hong Kong or New York. Although if Hong Kong turns out to be too much like Taipei after a while, I'll switch to London :D Still hoping I can make this come true next year when I start my masters, hopefully in New York!
