El Presidente Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Pick two from the above....assuming they are all ready to smoke and good representations of the average.
CaptainQuintero Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hmmm, now I have only smoked the Montes from there so this is probably not the most unbiased pick you will get! However I would go with the Especial and, based on the flavour profile from the brand, I would imagine the Partagas long and skinny to be pretty delicious. Oh how I set myself up for falls
ksblazer Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Voted for the LGC MdO No.1 & the Partaga SdC NO.1 Haven't smoked enough of the Cohibas & Montes to form an opinion on them yet.
Lotusguy Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Haven't had a chance to smoke the ERDM or Parties (and looks like I never will) but of the rest, I picked the LGC MdO #1 and Fundadores. A VERY close 3rd would be the Lancero. If they were a choice, Bolivar Esp. #2 RE 2009 would be my first. How come the Vegueros are not listed?
shrink Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Not an easy call, but I voted for the Party Serie du Connaisseur. The 2003 vintage is exceptionally good. Honorable mention goes to the 2008 ERDM Grandes des Espana. What a great cigar. I actually prefer these to 2001 Cohiba Lanceros, and that's saying a lot.
riazp Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Fundadores and Cohiba Lanceros are my favs at the moment
OZCUBAN Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I voted for the Part SDC#1 and the Cohiba Lancero At least one is still avail
duwan Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Went with the Montes and the Trinidad. Would have liked to saw the Por Larranaga Monte Carlos in there.
ChanceSchmerr Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Probably one of the toughest poll questions to answer because I am a fan of all the skinnies on that list that I have tried.(would love to try a punch Nifta, but have yet to find one yet!). I went with the party Sdc1 and ERDM GdE. Can't beat a GdE when it's on!
ramon_cojones Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Not qualified to respond as have only smoked cohiba lancero and fundis.
maverickdrinker Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 cohiba lanceros and monte especial no 1s for me.
soltino Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Difficult question as 90% of my smokes are all long and skinnies! Went for the Especiales No.2 and LGC No.1 in the end. Love the Lanceros and Sdc No.1 too but smoke them less... Never tried the Punch Ninfas but would love to find some and give them a shot
khomeinist Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I smoke all of these regularly so I can't really pick favorites. I will say Partagas SDC and the ERDM as these are two of the most ill-conceived deletions. The last 08 GdE that I smoked had a damn fire-retardant wrapper, but when on, the combination of floral honey and milk chocolate from an ERDM cannot be matched. The Fundadores, Lanceros, Coronas Especiales, LGCs, and Monte Esp are all classics.
mm12 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Partagas and LGC for me. Monte Especial no 1. is a close third.
melies Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 For me it's the Partagas SDC1 (i Just bought a box from 97 that's awesome) and the lanceros!!! the fundadores from 00 are also incredible now
bassman Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Why is Monte Especial #2 listed & not Cohiba Corona Especial? Same size cigar. I'd vote for the Cohiba CE- if I could. Since I can't, I'll just smoke them.
PigFish Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Not an easy call, but I voted for the Party Serie du Connaisseur. The 2003 vintage is exceptionally good. I can't vote Rob. The grandeur of so many of these cigars, all listed as my favorites, makes it impossible for me to say one is better than the other. I have smoke absolutely stunning cigars out of this bunch with exception of the LGC, Punch and Gourmet. The Le Hoyo line is a favorite but the du Gourmet has never been a stunner for me. Thanks for thinking of the dying breeds! -Piggy

I chose the Monte Especiale and the Partagas SdC #1, but I wouldn't complain a second over having any two of the rest. Epic cigars.
Cambridge1 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Montecristo Especial is an amazing smoke. It's one of my all time top 5 cigars. I'm going through a great 07 box now.
PigFish Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I had to toss in a vote for the trailing GdE. Honestly, I could live on the cigars in the list and need no others.
frenchkiwi Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 friggin hell most of these are brilliant cigars have to agree with Piggy here i could almost live with just these ones but considering i have only smoked a couple of most, and boxes of only Monty Esp no1, no2, and LGC no1 i have to pick the best out of those three in my experience and vote for LGC no.1
Liuk Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 I chose SDCN1 and Lanceros..But I have some especial no.1 from a '00 box and they are wonderful
Azksig Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Like many here I voted for the LGC #1 and the Partagas SDC #1. I have never had a punch ninfa nor the ERDM. I would love to try these but not sure that will ever happen. I hope there are no more deletions to this list.
