El Presidente Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 With the "Tosser King" away, Smithy and I have the chance to indulge in an old favourite...The Partagas Short.
mbrody Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Great review fellas. If there is one size I smoke most, it is the 1/2 corona and the Partagas Short is a must, as you say, in the rotation. Mix in some Boli CJ's, Siglo I, Petit Punch, Dip5, Monte 5 and I can live a happy man. Someone tell HSA to STOP murdering the 1/2 Corona!
mkz Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Thanks for the review guys! Unfortunately all the "Shorts" I´ve tried have been dissapointing. Just not my cup of tea I guess...
Colt45 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Nice work guys. Nothing like the flavor of crushed ants to entice one to stock up.
El Presidente Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Nice work guys. Nothing like the flavor of crushed ants to entice one to stock up. Tell me about it. You get rid of one idiot for the week only to be gifted another
Colt45 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Tell me about it. You get rid of one idiot for the week only to be gifted another Yeah - as a salesman, Smithy makes a great botanist.
smll2 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I'm with Rob and Smithy on these. I have been through 2 dress boxes of these over the past couple of years...and recieved a 50 cab box recently that's resting.. I have really enjoyed this cigar...and it is one of the first cigars I can say is in my rotation. Terrific little cigar IMHO.
asmith Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Nice work guys. Nothing like the flavor of crushed ants to entice one to stock up. Colt haven't seen you do a video review for a while?? Put up or Shut up mate!
Colt45 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Colt haven't seen you do a video review for a while?? Put up or Shut up mate! Currently in pre-production pending additional funding and casting. A production reminiscent of a Harold Hecuba masterpiece can't be rushed.
dochowl Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 wow... have we moved on to using multiple cameras? Sounds like the budget has been moving up for these reviews. Very fancy. Well done review.

Funding and Casting, I know where you are coming from. What budget do you think we have to be able to have a cast of A Pirate, A Hobo and a Wookie?
LeafLover Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Parti Shorts, Trini Reyes, San Cristobal de la Habana El Principe all own real estate in my humi.....always. Satisfying and short....like all quickies should be. Great review.
shrink Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Now, if someone can just figure out how to join two Party Shorts end-to-end... Partagas would have a really great cigar! Now what would they call it? A Long?
bunburyist Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 good review lads - I'm on the reyes at the moment for my 'shorts' but its been a while since I've had one of these. Poor Ken, I hope he can swim.

Mr. Japan Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Never been disappointed by shorts from cabinet.
PADDYWHACK121272 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Great review - love the Partagas short and minutos in general - practically the only size I have time to smoke on weekdays. Would be great to see a review of SCdH El Principe, RA SCMs, Boli CJs... Doesn't take much to persuade me to have a cigar so off to grab a short now...
thechenman Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I too am a big fan of the Shorts. Love the Reyes and Principes too. These would be my top 3 half coronas.
jquest63 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Another great review! Definitely a humidor staple. Reliable, rich and flavorful. Still struggling with the crushed ants aspect. Now that the weather has warmed up, may have to round some up from the yard and smoke a few.
MontrealRon Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 "...the flavor of crushed ants..." Formaldehyde, perhaps? Delicious! Love those Party Shorts. Probably my favorite small cigar, though I haven't tried any other than '05s and '06s, which are both brilliant.
BigGuns Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 One of my all time favorites. A staple, as you say. Thanks for the great review of these little gems...
Geo17pip Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Great cigar.. im smoking an 05 right now and its just awesome. I love smaller format cigars, too bad HSA is cutting alot of them.
