What's your favorite EL or RE?

Hey all!

I know the double banders have their fare share of haters because of the price and/or discontinuations, but I personnaly love them.

Since I started smoking cubans, I smoked a bunch of EL's and RE's.

My favorite, is, for now a tie between the Cohiba 66 and the PL Asia Pacifico Belicoso 2008.

What is your favorite?

Favorite RE--toughy but I have to say the RA Belicosos RE Alemania (RA REs are generally great)

Favorite LE- Cohiba 1966 (HU 48 and 06 Cohiba Piramides are a close second).

I only had a couple of each LE/RE but from the ones I've had:

EL - Monte 520 by far, smoked it ROTT last week. Even surpassed the 1966's for me. Only other EL's I've had were RyJ Hermoso 2 04 and RA Extra 11.

RE - Boli Simones. Smoked RACF, Punch Descobridores, 06 PL Lonsdales, and Boli short bolis.

RE: almost any Boli, PL, and RA has been great, there have only been a few REs is haven't liked

VR re Adriãtico

LGC re Cuba

RA re Canada (gorditos)

Boli re France (finally smoked those beasts)

PL re Asia Pacific (belicosos)

VR re Canada (XV Anni)

I am SUCH a sucker for the regional program!

As for LE's, I'm putting my bucks into Partagas C3. I love'm

PL Robusto- I have only had a few an they were spectacular

and my favorite LE was

Monte Sublime 2008- I was gifted one of these by my good buddy Professor Twain a while back and I think I burned myself finishing it off.

The best LE stick I had so far was Magnum 48 (over Cohiba 1966). That stick was a single from FOH. Pure chocolate... Then I ordered two boxes and none of the sticks I've tried came any closer

Had one for the first time in a long time on the weekend, am still raving about it.

RE has to be the Phoenicia 30th Anniversary Lebanese Phoenicio (Sublime) release. Only smoked 1 of these but what a cigar!

LE has to be my beloved R&J Dukes from 2009. They were very good when released, became amazing last year and seem to be still improving with age. Sadly trying to find them is nigh on impossible

I love the PL belicosos and have enjoyed others I've tried.

Favorite EL is the 2004 Partagas Serie D.1 and favoriete RE is the PL Magnifico.

Where to start? By far I've enjoyed a lot more RE's than LE's.

The list above is dominated by Ramon Allones. Sadly, I find the RA RE's are so much better than regular RA releases. It's kind of a shame really. But, I will continue to enjoy them while I can. As for the La Escepcion. I can hardly keep my hands off them.

LE: tie between 1966 and Monte Sublimes

Favourite RE thus far is a toss up between the LGC Gloriosos (UK 2008) and the VR Maestros (ESP 2007). In the right situation I also love the butteriness of the LFdC Short Robusto (UK2010) That said, I've still got a PL Magnificos (UK 2007) in my humidor which I've yet to smoke, and they're supposed to be incredible.

As for my top LE? I would probably have to go with the Monte Sublimes (2008) - it was the first Montecristo that I really liked, I thought it was excellent. (I'm with dicko on this one though, LEs have rarely done much for me).
