GEO FEB 14. From our host, regular order. This was one of the worst looking ones from the box so I sacrificed it with some sweet, milky coffee and graham crackers. Quite enjoyable.

Cigars I've had recently...

1) Ramon Allones Club Allones LE 2015 RAE Jun 2015

Another great one of these I've enjoyed lately. This had the typical stewed fruits, chocolate, tobacco, leather and slight cedar profile whilst been super-smooth and mild. I can't wait to sample the next one!

2) La Flor de Cano Gran Cano UK Regional Release 2013 (Thanks Trevor)

Caramel, Wood, Citrus and a little Floral. Mild-medium and quite nice, thank you Trevor for allowing me to sample this UK regional cigar!

3) San Cristobal de La Habana La Punta OEB Abr 2007

Cocoa, tobacco and molasses, only muted. I wonder if this cigar is the type that's best enjoyed before the 5-year mark? It was okay, perhaps a little beyond its optimum smoking point.

4) Ramon Allones Celestiales Finos STA Ago 2009

Bewilderment, shock and horror was what I felt when I punched this and couldn't draw sufficient smoke. I've loved the strong flavours from these in the recent past, so this was one of those few times where I had to apply a straight cut about 5 mm from the head. Phew...instant satisfaction and normality restored (and plenty of smoke)! Leather, Tobacco, almond, dark cherries and stewed fruit. If you had one of these, you know exactly what I'm talking about!

5) Cuaba Distinguidos EML Mar 2014

Well, this was a nice surprise! I picked this up from a recent 24:24 clearance sale marked EML Mar 2015 (mostly*), so when the box arrived and it had an extra year on it, smelt like fresh barnyard and every stick looked PSP/HQ. Of course, I was very happy. Shortbread, toasted tobacco and white pepper, you'd think I'm describing a gorgeous H.Upmann cigar but this Cuaba had a savoury edge to it that contained its distinctive peanut butter profile.

6) Saint Luis Rey Lonsdale FOD Jul 2003

Another one of those cigars that can be a 'cracker' when aged, this one unfortunately had also gone past its 'sweet spot'. Floral, tobacco and honey and almond flavours which were indistinctive. A shame really, as it was probably at its prime between the 5 and 8 year mark. Discontinued in 2006 and no one has seen the regular production SLR Double Corona lately either, have they?

7) Fonseca No.1 ARG Abr 2015 (Thanks John!)

Don't write this off friends, despite the toothy wrapper, this was a medium floral, honey, toasted tobacco pleasure with a hint of spice. A very good option when you desire a 'change-of-pace'. Thank you John for allowing me to sample this!

8) El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme (Seconds)

This cigar is one of those reasons why you should never dismiss seconds when they come up on 24:24. This had a small nick in the wrapper. No matter, it did not prevent me from savouring its super-mild milk coffee, almond, tobacco, citrus and spice goodness! For the cost of the cigar, outstanding!

Epicure Especial courtesy of Jason, aka jclark33...Creamsicle!Not getting the floral notes like I do from an Epi 2...more like sweet fruit. This was a really tasty cigar! Have a good weekend everyone.
