El Presidente Posted June 24 Posted June 24 EAR = Email Assistance Required. "......I started building my CC collection in 2023 and cost is a factor as it is for many. I supplement my CC obsession with Fab 5 Robusto Trinity and Spada Gorda + Corta Suave. 50 Ring gauge thereabouts is my sweet spot. I don't want to waste my dollars and I want to buy Cuban boxes to put away for 2--3 years at least in part. Could you give me your three most reliable, consistent cigars and the one to avoid (least reliable)? Appreciated" 1
Popular Post DeeBeezy Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 PLPC. It's still cost effective, it's a cab 50, good young and aged, same smoking time as a Robusto. Just do it. 9
Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 24 Author Popular Post Posted June 24 Most reliable (and available) for me. 1. Partagas Serie D 4 2. Bolivar Belicoso Finos 3. Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Rio Seco Least reliable. Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill (blend is all over the place). 12
Popular Post MeLlamoHabano Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most reliable for me 1. Siglo II 2. Partagas D 4 3. Upmann Half Corona Personally I haven’t smoked a bad one of any of these regardless of box. To be fair though, I’ve only owned 2-3 boxes of each. Least reliable for me but still good when they're on. Trinidad Reyes and RASS 6
Popular Post loose_axle Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 For me: 1. Partagas Lusi 2. PLPC 3. H Upmann Mag 50 Least Reliable: Montecristo except Especial and No 2. That and Punch are all over the shop for me. 6
Popular Post REesq Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 I agree with El Presidente and would add Ramon Allones Superiores. Even though they are technically a limited LCDH release, until recently they always seemed to be regularly available, a real 5,000 box miracle. 5 2
Popular Post zeedubbya Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most reliable 1.) D4 2.) Connie A 3.) Lusitania **Hon. Mention— The Mag 56 EL was prob the most reliable non reg production I’ve ever experienced, kinda sad they’re mostly gone now. Least Reliable: Anything RYJ— Short Church, Belis, Churchill…is there a more inconsistent marca? My God they can be magical or totally flavorless—from the same box! 13
Popular Post JohnS Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most reliable: 1) Partagas Serie D No.4 2) Partagas Lusitanias 3) Bolivar Petit Corona Least Reliable: 1) Any of the Partagas Maduro Series 12
Popular Post jgeorgost Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most Reliable for me 1) Diplomaticos No. 2 2) Partagas Lusitanias 3) H. Upmann Magnum 50 The one that i am avoiding every time if I found stock is Hoyo Epicure Especial, I have been in unicorns but also donkeys and I finally gave up! 8
Popular Post BrightonCorgi Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 JL No. 2 Upmann No. 2 RJ Belicoso 9
Popular Post Mike Mecklenburg Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most reliable: Partagas Lusitanias, H. Upmann Half Corona, Hoyo de Monterrey Coronations Least Reliable: Cuaba Divinos 7
Popular Post joeypots Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Punch Punch MC DE D4, it used to be RASS but I haven't been smoking many of them lately. Least: R&J Churchills 10
Popular Post Nohiba Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 For me: 1. Partagas D4 - Really not my favorite, but they are more than solid, and I don’t think I’ve ever had one that’s “off” or with construction issues. On everyone’s top 3 in reliability because you always know what you’re getting. 2. HUHC - Real nice (and relatively quick) showcase of the marca profile with great price/performance. Always on point. 3. Punch Punch - Never had a bad one. Least reliable- The RASS is probably my favorite Robusto when on, but I’ve gotten quite a bit of stinkers from multiple boxes. 8
Popular Post Duder Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most - Cohiba Esplendidos Cohiba Robustos Cohiba Siglo VI Least - VR Famosos 11
Popular Post joeypots Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Eric Bogosian (Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll) I saw Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll at the Wilbur in Boston in '90. It was a brilliant preformance. 3 1 1
Popular Post Havanaaddict Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most reliable: JL#2 JL#1 RASS Least reliable: Hoyo Epicure Especial Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill 6
Popular Post BrightonCorgi Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 I forgot my least reliable. Anything Sancho Panza 5
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Most reliable - Partagas E2 . Haven't had a bad one. Romeo y Juleta Petit Royales. In tubos they have been little faithfuls. Diplo 2. Only pyramid I really smoke much of anymore. Least reliable would be Monte 2. They are great when on but I have been burned a lot by these. 9
Popular Post Gubbins Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 From my experience. Reliable cigars. - JL2, D4, PLPC, HUHC, Hoyo Petit Robusto, BPC Least reliable (Plug Bombs) - RG Perlas, RyJ Mille Fleurs. 5
westg Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Most reliable - Monte Petit Edmundo, Monte 2 , Hoyo San Juan...special mention to the Partagas 898, they trump everything and you just can't get them. Least reliable - anything Fonseca, San Cristobal El Principe, Cohiba Esplendidos...yep, every box I have purchased have been all over the place. 4 1
chasy Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Partagas D4 Partagas Lusi H Upmann Mag 54 Least: Monte 2, RASS, agree with basically anything RyJ 3
ThePolskiOgorki Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Most: H Upmann No 2 Hoyo Epi 2 PLPC Least Punch Punch 4
REesq Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Interesting, RyJ in various vitolas seem to be the leading most inconsistent. For good reason, in my opinion, although I have a particular fondness for the box pressed Churchills. The Lusitanias and D4 seem to be leading the most consistent and the Punch Punch, on the other hand, seemed to show up on both sides several times, which I find a bit surprising. 4
