This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world.

To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well!

Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor)   4-6 (Average to good)   7-10  (very good to excellent)  Use the Poll.

Partagas Short knocked it out of the park with a 77% Humidor worthy rating. How close will the Ramon Allones Small Club Corona get?

All things being equal, I will take the RASCC 7 times out of 10. I simply prefer the flavour profile over the Party Short. Personal preference. HOWEVER, QC on the RASCC I find to be worse than the Shorts. Not by much but enough to be noticeable.

Today: Ramon Allones Small Club Corona. Do you enjoy them? Fresh or aged? If aged...how long before they generally hit their stride. Have you noticed a change over the years?

Let's kick off the discussion

Love the size, love the marca but these just don’t do it for me. I’ll savor the few remaining RAPC & RAC I have left and you all can have these.

I must admit, I've had some terrific examples of late. Maybe it's just me, but it seems they've been a bit harder to acquire post-Cigarmageddon (July 2022).

Great little mofo. Just a bit hard to find and the pricing is on the higher side.  Definitely the best fresh RA in regular production. No aging needed just open the box and smoke.

This is interesting I've seen more of those than Party Shorts the last couple of years in my corner of the woods 🤔

For sure. I used to smoke them regularly. Construction, consistency - never a problem. We just don't see them often enough. Smoked through all of mine. Been a while.

Prefer these to RASS. Very infrequently there are draw issues. Flavors are always great though.

The only thing I can add to all that’s so well said above, is to share that blind tasting results produced much the same flood of positive responses.  In an all CC series, against other similarly aged samples, and against results for similar as well as many larger format entries, the RASCC scored among the highest in the series from all participants — all blind.

Beneath the band, as Rob’s series is appropriately called (and given the absence bands in those series), the RASCC samples stood out for being (a) representative of the Marca (which most guessed correctly), (b) consistent in experiences, and (c) roundly enjoyed.

While I enjoy “small & skinnies” from nearly all CC marcas, these stand out for not needing age to enjoy (though they age well too) and when you just want a little RA intensity added at that moment :)
