Midweek Shootout Poll: Ramon Allones Gigantes vs Trinidad Vigia

Midweek Shootout Poll - Over the past few months, we've sorted through our first Round of 32 cigars in this series and now have our Winners & Losers bracket matchups. 

There will be some brutally lopsided match-ups at the outset (last week's Cohiba Siglo V trouncing of the poor E2 for instance), and then we should see some titanic battles as we progress through the bracket (see below).

I have had great Vigias. RA for a Double Corona is my least favorite of the bunch.

Really enjoy the Vigias - down to last box. Hated to see that price increase, oh well. I like the RA Gigantes but there are better DCs.

The poor RAG. Has anyone told you you're beautiful today?

Well there's always tomorrow. Won't hear it from me either.

Out of my wide range of sampling RAGs ( ONE CIGAR ) I immediately put it in the hell no category. I would graciously accept one as a gift ( I'm not THAT crude ) and then promptly gift it to the first sucker...I mean friend that needed a cigar.

Love the RAGs. They are very comfortable like my UGG slippers. Not fancy, just smooth. Vigia is a nice cigar but RAG edges it out for me mostly because of a significant size preference.

If I could offer a contrary opinion, I have a box of Ramon Allones Gigantes from 2015 and at this stage of their development, it's not even a question. RAG all the way!

Gigantes - my favourite DC young. Every Vigia I've had made me wonder how it could ever share a brand and band with the esteemed Fundadores, the little bastard.

I love them both equally. Different time and place for each one.

In my life I have had three each Vigia and RAG. In both cases, two of the three were stellar and the last one of each were really unenjoyable. I was surprised by both, having expected a great smoke. I have the balance of the box of RAG, but I only have a few singles of Vigia. Based on my limited experience I gave the edge to the Vigia, probably because I like more vitolas in the Trinidad lineup than RA.

Not even close IMO. The RAG is a beast. The Vigia is a pale substitute for the Trinidad Robusto T. It's decent, but doesn't have as complex a profile as the RAG.
