El Presidente Posted July 19 Posted July 19 This series seeks to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world. To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well! Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor) 4-6 (Average to good) 7-10 (very good to excellent) Use the Poll. You are more than free to comment away The Bolivar Petit Corona flew out the door this week in our "price scrifice" deal. One off or genuine love? I know how I feel but lets find out how members do. Popular Post Li Bai Posted July 19 Popular Post Posted July 19 My favourite petit corona and one of my favorite cigars, very reliable little flavor bomb. You can't go wrong with a bpc 👍 12
loose_axle Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Just an okay one for me. Does the job but doesn't blow me away and when the box is gone I won't replace it. 1
BG318 Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I would like a box or less hanging around the humidor. I will replace the box as it gets close to empty and smoke it in the 2-4 year range. I don't have it backed up like I do with the PLPC or Monte 4. I like them although I tend to reach for other things first. 2
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted July 19 Popular Post Posted July 19 This is a sort of love/hate stick for me and I don’t care for them at all young. I’ve had some stellar aged cab versions and admit I did go deep on 50 cabs when they were disco. Never had a DB version that blew me away but to be fair I haven’t smoked any produced later than 2012. They have also not been very consistent even in the cabinets. Too bad because being a huge PC fan I really want to love them. 6
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted July 19 Popular Post Posted July 19 I can’t be without a box or 2 in inventory. A mainstay for me and my absolute favorite smoke after a heavy meal. 6
SCgarman Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I have a 2011 box that were good many years ago. They have lost much of their rich flavor and have become very mild. Very disappointing. Bolivar was an ass kicker of a blend. Not anymore, just medium bodied at most. 4
BoliDan Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Like most PCs, these are great. Had one from 2018 this week and it was great. 4
Popular Post JohnS Posted July 19 Popular Post Posted July 19 My Bolivar Petit Corona cigars have been very reliable for me in the last few years. 5 1
Redgoldband Posted July 20 Posted July 20 4 months down in my humidor, and they were singing! On the docket to order more in the fall. The only way to describe this cigar: good, enjoyable, vivid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
Popular Post riderpride Posted July 20 Popular Post Posted July 20 All 10s on this one. Kicks hard enough that my palate never has a chance to be 'off'. Legs for decades baby. Cheers! 5

El Hoze Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Between the format and flavor profile it definitely fills a niche. One of those cigars that I always know what I’m going to grab as I’m walking over to my cigar closet vs. being a spontaneous pick. 2
GVan Posted July 20 Posted July 20 An absolute favorite of mine. Remember the two-box deals that you could find on these back in 2019! I went very deep into these - like 12 boxes deep. Now down to only 6 boxes left. I agree with whomever above said that they are best with 4 to 5 years on them. The 2019's are stellar, consistent PC's. 2
yuppie Posted July 20 Posted July 20 How do these differ from the Coronas Juniors? They seem a bit longer. Is the blend different at all?
Ford2112 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I had a knockout box once. With current prices I likely won't revisit most of the PC formats unfortunately. 1
Nevrknow Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Absolutely a go-to. Down to a box and a half. Damnit. Love the size. It just "fits" the time frame I have to smoke one and I am never disappointed. These boxes are '19s so the age hasn't affected them for the worse. At least not for me. Funny thing is the bigger Bolivars have to be ON for me to appreciate them like others. But then again maybe I just got lucky on all the boxes I have had, including these last 2. Actually one of the few boxes I will replenish even at today's prices. 3
Allroz Posted July 21 Posted July 21 This one isn’t for me. I’ve tried to like it but it's not something I’d seek out.
zeedubbya Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Love the cigar. I did have a box a while back which was a VERY tight draw, but they were still tasty. Prefer Tubos 2 to these personally (prob same cigar really), but always have been really nice I think. I do agree with @SCgarman on Boli PC being better on the more fresh side, few I’ve smoked with over 10 years have dropped off a lot in flavor profile. YMMV.
Capn_Jackson Posted July 21 Posted July 21 These are a favorite. I’ve always had at least a box or two on hand, and probably need to go ahead and grab another backup box. I missed the slashed one last week. 😥 2
Alguillory91 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Have been one of my absolute favorites for years. Very creamy and bold. They are a banger wake up cigar paired with coffee or a nightcap cigar with a glass of good bourbon. Wish I would have held on to more of them. Now they are few and far between 😔 3
