She was acting weird, lethargic, sad, and was a little bloated. Took her to the vet and they found blood in her abdomen. Rushed her an hour and a half at 100-105mph ( thankfully no cops) to the University of Illinois small animal hospital.

They did an ultrasound and a CT Angio and found she has a tumor on her spleen that burst and started the internal bleeding. 60% of her blood volume was in her abdomen when they started surgery. Finally found out that she was ok and stable after surgery around 4am.

Unfortunately they have a strong suspicion that she has a very aggressive cancer even though they didn’t find any other tumors. The samples are being sent to pathology. She’s only 6 years old and it’s really breaking my heart. This dog means so much to me, without her I am not certain that I would be here today. Please send pics of your pups and cigars to make me smile.

Thanks in advance, Ty

Best wishes and prayers to you and your beautiful dog. Here’s a couple pics of Tilly.  The princess and court jester of our house.

Doggo and a JL1. Doesn't get much better imo.

Best wishes for the pup. 🙏

Mankind domesticated dogs 40,000 years ago and they are still our finest work. You’ll both be in my prayers.

Here's my pup, his name is Thorkell and he's 2. He's my first dog and he literally rocked my World, I wish yours a quick recovery 🤞

I had a golden retriever growing up in the same shade. Great dogs. Watch out for "hot spots". They'll lick themselves raw very easily.

People keep stopping me in the streets, it's a really rare shade here.

You're right about those hot spots, I have to check him daily.

This is my first dog as well. My wife and I got her when we first moved in together in late 2018. Carolina has been a cornerstone of our relationship and small family. I will actually do anything for this dog. Thankfully she is already making a speedy recovery and we get to go see her today. Discharge tomorrow assuming everything continues to improve.

Thanks for the puppy pictures and love everyone. It really has helped ease the pain and for that I am extremely grateful.

I would never have understood it before owning a dog but I know how you feel brother.

I'm glad she's already doing better 👍

Just praying it's not cancer even though the odds are not in her favor 🙏
