BrightonCorgi Posted January 29 Posted January 29 George Michael was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Love George Michael and Wham! We listen to both all the time at home. There's a great documentary on Wham! 2

Apparently he was a very kind philanthropic person, making all sorts of life changing gifts to people, completely hidden from the media. Top bloke. 3

Top bloke. i actually spent an evening in a Kings Cross club in Sydney with him and his group once many years ago. he was a top bloke. i was on my way late one Friday after work (in the days i used to do things like that) and was at a set of traffic lights. car went through them and i said something. he was in a group near me - i had not realised who he was - and whatever i said, he thought it was funny. starting talking to me and turned out we were off to the same club. he invited me to join his group for the night. had a ball. he bought jugs of those blue cocktails all night. infusions or eruptions or whatever. i tried to buy a round and he got very adamant - the only person who bought drinks was himself. insistent. mine was sent back and i had to promise never to buy another round. i still had not twigged who he was. just some odd but nice pom. most of his group were dull as ditchwater but he was fun. and he was with this spectacular woman who did not say a single word all night. as it got later, by now i had twigged, it suddenly dawned on me that this was crying game territory for her/him. the area was known for it. each to their own and as i said, he really was a nice guy. we had enjoyed a great chat about all manner of things. then about 3 or 4am, he started on world politics and religion and that was when it got seriously weird. and by now, most of his group had been scoffing all manner of things one might suspect were not completely legal, though i did not see him do anything. suffice to say that the discussion went to how the Vatican was after world domination and killing people, including popes, to achieve it. i had a lot of fun but when i had a chance, i thought it finally wise to bolt. i was very sad when he passed. deserved better. 8
