My dealer offered me a new list, he always sells out quickly so I need to be quick too...

1. HDM Monterreyes

2. HDM Double Corona cab of 50

3. Montecristo Linea Leyenda

4. Montecristo Linea Maltes

5. Montecristo Linea Dumas

Never tried any of the above, I like the flavor profile of both marcas. HDM typically have the edge over Montecristo for me but I never ever tried the Montecristo Linea lines. Which one to hoard first?

You mean the HDM Montereyes No. 4?

If it does cost you a kidney, get them all.
as @Li Bai said, my go would also be the DC. But you really need assistance here? Do you?

From personal experience the Monte Linea aging potential is questionable. All my original release boxes are a shadow of their former selves while fresh boxes are very good. The jury is still out on if they will turn around and become excellent like they once were. I don't chase EL anymore, just don't see the point. The DC is a stunning blend but can be quite inconsistent as well. Out of that list I'd go with the DC, especially since it's a 50 cab.

HDM DC 50. They are good young and age gracefully.

Yep, true words by Li Bai. From your postings it seems you got a bit carried away by your new found hobby. :D

Yeah I’d say smoke some of what you’ve got - provide helpful info to the forum and then come back for questions. My sense if that we should strive to both give and take from the forum.

HDM DC for sure, the Linea lines are nice to try, but hoard... hmm. I think there are better for the money.

Meh, buy them all. You only live once.

If you have the means, might as well go for it.

The only cigar on that list that I would want to be a box/cab owner of and pay market/overs  is the HDM DC.

Hoyo DC.

That said, I love the Maltes and I did buy a bunch of them back in the day, so you might want to hoard after all like @LordAnubis says!

I’m gonna go against the consensus here. Buy all and everything that you possibly can at your income level. Go nuts. Here’s the thing. We are living in times where prices are going up, there are avenues to sell stuff (I’m not talk flipping here, I’m just talking a second hand market exists i.e. Bond Roberts etc, etc.) and stock levels are low. So go nuts. Buy 5 boxes of all of the above. You will eventually get around to smoking stuff and either go “I’m so glad I listened to that Mus guy and I have 5 boxes of these to enjoy”, or you’ll say "nah that’s not for me". At that point sell 'em. You will at least break even what you paid. Make friends in your local area, sell it to them at your cost price. Whatever. I say buy as much today as you possibly can with your available disposable income.

This I can understand but it's so frustrating for those botl that come after you.

If all those with very high income levels did this there would be nothing left for "regular" people, like it's already the case in many places.

I've had news from Andorra for example, now if you want to purchase a box of Punch DC like I did, you have to take a box of Siglo de Oro or 55th Aniversario. I think it's a shame and hoarding only reinforces those practices. To each his own of course but I really don't like where this is all going. 😩

Never knew this question would invite so many responses. I have no other hobby right now other than work, renovating my house and smoking cigars. Nothing else. I used to have a lot of other hobbies but right now I am just focusing on building the future for my 3 kids as they all grow at an unbelievable pace and I fear for their future in this crazier by the day world. SO yes, FOMO in a hobby is real and right now I have no other venue to satisfy it other than cigars, hence the hoarding habit. That's my excuse 🫣

I missed on the Linea 1935, just 2 hours after I made this thread I confirmed the order only to be told all Leyenda and Maltes are sold. I managed to snatch 2 boxes of Linea 1935 Dumas, 2 boxes of HdM Monterreyes No.4 and 2 Boxes of HdM DC cab of '50, not bad for the week. Now I need to take a rest from buying just like @Li Bai kindly advised. I need spare money to pay for those windows! 😜
