Animal House... Difficult to remember someone I aspired to be more like than Bluto... where did my life go wrong? :D

Classic film... and if you're a fan and haven't seen the doco Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead and/or the movie A Futile And Stupid Gesture, then you should really check them out!

Dr. Strangelove. Topical, even these 60 years past…💥

Concur on Dr. Strangelove.  My teenagers thought it was the best film ever (after "2001 A Space Odyssey").  Followed that up with another Peter Sellers' flick, "The Mouse That Roared."  The following Friday (classic movie night in our house) was, "Colossus: The Forbin Project."  A very early take on the whole SkyNet thing.  The boys also liked the original "The Blob," and "Fail Safe," "The Andromeda Strain," and the de rigeuer classic war cinema entries: "Bridge Over the River Kwai," "Green Berets," "Dirty Dozen," "A Bridge Too Far," "The Guns of Navarone," and "Patton" (but is "Patton" old enough to be a classic yet??).

Last Friday's Classic was "Blazing Saddles," which I had never seen.  Pretty sure you couldn't make that film today, but hilarious social satire from the early 70's.

can't think of the number of times we all piled into the cinema with this on release. loved it. all time classic. most of the actors are old men now.

watched my all time fave dustin hoffman flick again the other evening. tootsie. i maintain that he was beyond robbed of the oscar that year. he was brilliant. bloody ben kingsley and his sari. robbed, i say.

i am yet to see anyone watch tootsie and not literally fall about in that last scene as he comes down the steps. priceless. "does Geoff know?" even just writing that leaves me sitting here giggling hopelessly. i do not eat in front of the tv when that film is on. otherwise, i have to clean up the mess.

Here's two classics I adore.

George Formby's "Riding in the T.T. Races"

or James Cagney's "White Heat"

*You guys have some terrific movies of yesteryear past to recommend. My favorite of all time past classic is Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather."  Hard to think of any other film so well made as that! :2thumbs:

I am in need of a laugh later today. :lol3:

When millionaire hedge fund manager James (Will Ferrell) is nailed for fraud and bound for a stretch in San Quentin, the judge gives him 30 days to get his affairs in order. Desperate, he turns to Darnell (Kevin Hart) to prep him for a life behind bars. But despite James’ one-percenter assumptions, Darnell is a hard-working small business owner who has never received a parking ticket, let alone been to prison.
