Sir Diggamus Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 This Corona Gorda is from 2019. It has a colorado colored wrapper with a few blotchy spots. Aroma at cold is sweet barnyard. Dry draw shows a little spice, clove maybe. Upon lighting the first note I notice is ground coffee. The draw is a little firm but still produces a decent amount of smoke. A hint of sweet spice joins in the profile and a touch of vanilla on the finish. A little further in the spice fades some while the sweetness doesn't, it presents like a sweet vanilla cream note now mixed with the fresh coffee note. The cigar has been a solid medium so far. The 2/3 starts with much of the same profile, fresh ground coffee mixed with sweet vanilla. The burn goes a bit wonky here, it was fairly straight so far, but it is an extremely windy day so that may be causing it. About halfway through the 2/3 a touch of honey joins in, almost like a latte with honey on top, it makes me want to retro every puff, very enjoyable. The coffee note turns a little darker and a bit bitter, like espresso, but still tasty mixing with the sweetness of the vanilla and honey notes. By the end of the 2/3 the burn completely corrects and is straight. The last third starts with a continuation of the same notes but a creaminess coming in at the front of the other notes. The cigar remains a solid medium. The cream stays present throughout the remainder of the cigar, with a hint of orange zest sneaking in as an additional note in the final 2 inches. This cigar was full of flavors I enjoy and although not super complex, it had several transitions around the same flavors, with the pleasant surprise of citrus sneaking in for the last bit of the cigar. It was fantastic. 93 points 3
BoliDan Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 I'd say epi 1 too based on notes but looks like swing and miss from others. Punch Punch?
