Corona Gorda. 2020.

Prelight: Beautiful, slightly darker shade than others I have of this and quite oily. After cutting, a clean nuttiness on the draw. The draw is beautiful.

1/3: The nuttiness carries through to the lighting. Almost a roasted peanut to it with a clean finish. There's a lingering berry in the background that I can't quite put my finger on. It almost treads into the leather oil realm--odd to say, but overall enjoyable. Medium bodied.

2/3:  Nuttiness continues but the leather is moving into the forefront. Still medium but a slight uptick on strength. Towards the end of this third there is a bit of a burnt toast note showing up.

Final third: The strength has unexpectedly levelled up. The roasted nut note has taken a bit of a backseat to the leather and toast. And almost a furniture polish weaving in. it's enjoyable, but perhaps there is some youth here still that is showing. I put it down with about 3/4 inch left.

Overall, very satisfying and a perfect companion to TNF. I'd probably revisit in about 6 months to see if the more chemical aspects of the cigar are tamped down.

Punch Punch Punch

I'm sitting on a box from 2020 for the same "chemical taste" reason.  I don't even get the initial nuttiness yet in mine yet but definitely the berry and leather.

Ding Ding! Well done! It was a Punch Punch.

There were a lot of positives from this cigar and  I was pretty happy I got the nuttiness out of it (a good roasted nuttiness at times), but that berry note kept swerving into the chemical territory and it sort of muddled the experience. This was a single from the FOH Xmas exchange-- definitely helped convince me I need to sit on the 2 boxes (one 2020, one 2021) for a little bit.
