In Rome, there is Fincato - LCDH on Via Colonna Antonina 34. Their hours are very irregular, and last I heard they had very little stock of CC. But it is a nice shop with a pleasant owner - worth a drop by (call before going). The LCDH probably have some New World cigars on hand if their CC stock is depleted.

To the right of the Pantheon on the piazza, you will find Di Renzios Cafe. He always maintained a cabinet of CC inside. I haven't been there for more a couple of years, so no idea of his stock level. But if you're ion Rome, at some point you will almost certainly be at the Pantheon - easy to check Di Renzios out. As a bonus, it's a nice plate to sit and enjoy the view while having a drink or light meal.

I'll be back in Italy for the month of October, so let me know what you find. Good luck with your search.

In Florence try Tabacchi Cavini... Agree with @GaryK 54 about Fincato in Rome also...

There is a tobachi in Capri off the main square that had a large collection of singles when I was there in May. Also had some hard to find boxes. Prices were in range

Yep, me as well.

Was there in June. CC stock was near zero, only a few low end items. But pleasant folks (albeit disheartened with the lack of supply) and a beautiful shop worth seeing.

@Boxer31 good luck and please let us know how it goes.

Try Della Monica on Capri, it’s in Capri town, just across the square from the upper station of the funicular. A small shop but always worth a visit. Their leather cigar cases are great, bought one a few years ago and haven’t seen anything that comes close to it in leather quality.

On another note, does anyone know if Italy has strict customs/ tobacco tax?

My country is pretty strict and 4 out of 5 boxes I’ve purchased recently have gotten dinged.

Thinking of buying more but maybe ship it to Italy then putting in my luggage without the box (I hear the box shows up on scans) and bringing it home

Will definitely provide an update

After week one in Italy - a little success in Sorrento - two shops right near the piazza had some JL2, Monte 2, PL pic, Trini Coloniales - only 1 partial box of each.  Some sig II and medio sig but not paying those prices for Cohiba. So just picked up some singles.

Did not get a chance to hit the main shop on Capri - too much going on.

Florence, no stock at all that I could find.  Other side of Tuscany and Rome for this week. Hopefully will see some stock.

I was in Capri and Rome last week of August. There is a great cigar shop right next to the Pantheon. It had decent stock when I was there Vigia, Cohiba Secretos, Sig I & II & Medio Siglo, and probably some others that I don't remember. Didn't have a chance to visit Fincato, but I here that the stock here is the best in Rome.

I wish I can tell you more about actual location and name of shop, but I just stumbled upon it and remember it was very close to the pantheon.

Also, the stock in Capri was not good when I went so I don't think you missed much there.

Good luck!

Ciao @jonnyfromiranny. If the shop you’re thinking of is just to the right of the Pantheon on the piazza, it must be Di Renzios Cafe. He always maintained a decent stock of CC in a large cabinet on the second floor of his restaurant. It’s also a nice little cafe where you can enjoy a drink and good food on the piazza. Smoking has always been welcomed on his outside terrace.

Good to hear he has stock. We will be in Italy the month of October. I always carry my stock of CC with me, but will check Di Renzio out, as well as some other shops and LCDH for report back to my BOTL and SOTL at FOH. You also never know what hidden gem of a cigar you might find tucked away in a shop.

Heading to Italy in about 3 weeks as well

Looking forward to having some smokes in the Tuscan countryside and Como for sure

will be there around then as well. head to rome this weekend but immediately head off into the country. Tuscany, over around verona for a bit and then up around Barolo for a week or so. but it is one of those trips where every moment planned and i suspect i won't get a chance to have a look for cigars, let alone smoke any.

Drinking my fair share of Toscana wines, small family owned Brunello vineyard was a highlight. The countryside is definitely worth it.

Rome day 3 - visited LCDH Rome-Fincato, they said they were out - only had NC’s.  I suspect they had boxes waiting for “their customers” but can’t force them to sell me one of those boxes. Was a pretty cool place otherwise.

There was a shop right around my hotel - they had CoRo’s and Sig 1 (one open box of each) and some PLPC pics but just can’t pony up 78 for one CoRo. She was very friendly.

Next, will try Di Rienzo this weekend.

Di Rienzo can have some interesting stuff.  If they have something in the cabinet that you want more of, just ask. They have a humidor in the basement I think. When I was there in 2019, they have 1 box of LGC Invictos in the cabinet, when I asked if they have a full box, they grabbed me 5 from downstairs. :)  It's also a great place to stop for a smoke and drink to people watch.
