Upmann (José Martí) still carried the original code from 1999 when, according to the systematics at that time, all codes for Havana factories startet with letter E. 1
my happy place Posted July 1, 2025 Posted July 1, 2025 I really appreciate this post. It's been a great resource. 1

Cestis4 Posted July 7, 2025 Posted July 7, 2025 I’ve noticed the GES code is usually blue. Is this a specific to El Laguito? Not the code, but the color.

I've seen it both ways. With UAO, MAR and GES. Certainly have seen it with some others as well (RAT and EOL come to mind). I'd be shocked if there's any rhyme or reason behind the choice in color. 1
MagicalBikeRide Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Yeah, same here. Mix of blue and black and across a range of years, factories, etc. - albeit black more common. I’d be shocked if the protocol includes using whichever color ink pad is available.
abcd1234 Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 I recently got two boxes of Juan Lopez. Left - Juan Lopez Valkyria Exclusivo Regional Nordicos 2023 - Segui Right - Juan Lopez No2 - S.A. Vegas Is it commonplace for the smaller brands to split their production in multiple factories?

Did however receive another box of the JL Valkyria Nordic Regionals that seem to come from a different factory. Given there were only 6000 boxes made of these I would have assumed they all come from the same factory. Box 607/6000 OME ABR 24 Box 3365/6000 ESU SEP 24
CLP Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Finally obtained a box of Partagas E2. Matched up the box code to El Laguito. Anyone know if all Partagas E2 are rolled at Laguito? 2

WYSPR Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Can anyone point me in the right direction for research on 1990s to 1999 boxes? The search function seems to be above my skill base, haha!

From the era you're looking for, the NIVELCUSO system was in place. None of this jives with those breakdowns. If its' a 1999, it would would use the CODIGENTA system. Nothing lines up there either. BM might be the Briones Montoto (RyJ) factory. The third character is indeed an O vs 0 doesn't jive. Maybe it's a "D"? The font looks off as well. The markings appear to be Canadian. Is there any other label to confirm if it's Havana House as the distributor? 1

Thank-you sir you are the best! 4 hours ago, Puros Y Vino said: The markings appear to be Canadian. Yes Canadian. It does align with BM as it is a Saint Luis Rey box, but I was hoping to date it and maybe that is a bit more difficult. BM -RyJ ASC - June 97' ?, but yea the 0/O is confusing me; maybe its June 6 A or OA So, BM 0ASC ?

smashed Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 Just wanted to drop a note and say thanks for this resource as I use it at least once a month! 1
Fugu Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 All good, folks, but that’s not a (legit) box code stamp. Wondering it made its way through to BR.
