El Presidente Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Can the best NC Petit Corona take on the best CC Petit Corona? There are a couple of things here to unpack but in essence, 1. What are the best NC Petit Corona on the market today and do they stack up against, say, Montecristo Number 4/Boli PC. 2. Are there any NC Petit Corona that could come close to a Siglo II at its best? I have always struggled to find high end NC Petit Coronas. It is one of the reasons Hamlet and I went down this path. I really look forward to your input 1
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted July 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 7, 2023 I’ve never found an NC PC that could touch BPC. My favorite PC hands down. 9
Chas.Alpha Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 CC's tend to be complex, whereas NC's tend to be one dimensional... 4

But their current price point is excessive and beyond justification for many including myself. Love my Monte 4, but not for 300+usd/box. 5 1

treberty Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I really enjoy some Tatuajes PCs but, despite the perfect construction and draw you don't get the same complexity. That said, that is true for most NC vitolas/brands. That said, I'm mostly smoking NCs these days and loving it. The tables have turned and re-discovering NCs has been a fun journey. From my experience the most complex NCs I have had over the last 12-18 months have been from a boutique factory in Miami. I truly believe that Rob and Hamlet have the potential to bring NCs to a whole new level. Very cool venture and business model. Timing could not have been better and I am certain that it was well planned well before Habanos S.A.'s grossly exaggerated price increases. Well done! 1
JoeyBones777 Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I really enjoy the Warped Cloud Hopper no.53. It is close to as good as Cuban PC. The Illusione Le Grande Classe is probably my favorite NC PC though it is called PC it is only 4 5/8 by 40, so, doesn't really qualify. 1

Agree-Had a db of 2000 RAPC that were insanely good. Have never had a better PC. Even at 15 yrs they were still going strong!
NeoGeo Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I don't have enough experience with NC PCs, but my go-to CC have been PLPC and Monte 4 for quite some time and I have never found anything in the NC world that compares to one (when they're on). I also don't think/know if any NC makers care enough to try and get close to those flavor profiles...they seem to simply rest on their laurels and the fans/loyalists they have in that market. Again, though, not super experienced with them in PC, so I could be way off (but I suspect not). It's why we all appreciate the work you guys are doing with the Nudies...it's giving thought to something (that I feel) that hasn't been explored...game changing! Keep it going and the sky's the limit.

SpecialK Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Out of all the CC's I've smoked , I will say the petite Corona of any Marca have been consistently good.

I love them and I think the 44 gauge is an underutilised format. I have had 100 moulds made (44) to experiment with Longer and shorter vitolas. 2
shokao Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I can't think of any NC PC that gets anywhere close from BPC. PC is the most reliable cuban format in my opinion. They are consistent, enjoyable and the price was (yes, in the past) fair. We can argue the relation between cost and benefits of cuban PC and that's where NC can fillup the blank. But flavorwise? Nah, not right now at least. 2
TobaccoRoad Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Not that I've found so far. Just ordered a bundle of Mareva IV's. I'm hopeful that will change my opinion.
potpest Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Best Cuban PC's in my eyes are 1. Siglo 22=RyJ PC 2=Boli PC 3. RG4. Non Plus5. Plpc6. Monte 4My favourite Current production CC Vitolas are DC and PC No NC PC has ever got close to any Cuban PC, let alone those at the top of the list.I really like the Natural Fuentes, especially the Lonsdale and Canones but I think the PC is the worst of the Line.NC's perform best in Lonsdale and Churchill for me. 2

The Le Grande Classe is actually its own thing. Though the epernay line is among my favorite NC blends, I prefer the Le Ferme size which is closer to a robusto or Hermosa no.4. The Le Grande Classe is like Dion Giolito's nudie blend. Comes in a gold foil bundle with no bands in only the one size and its on the cheaper side but it's fantastic. 1

For me, Epernay is toasted nut, floral sweetness, touch of leather, milk chocolate and in some vitolas a bit of pepper in medium-light body. The Le Grande Classe is more citrus, coffee, sweet spices/fall spices, toasted nuts and cocoa in medium/medium-full body. I really like it in the morning with a cup of black coffee. 1
