Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted May 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 26, 2023 I'm no Davidoff expert but... first things that jump out at me are the very poor quality and varied font on the bands. Also the bands show no signs of age. Maybe a little dirt but no age or yellowing. They also appear to be on the whiter side which is a classic sign of a fake Davidoff band. They should be off-white/cream. The cigars themselves don't strike me as being legit. Very toothy wrapper on the one and I would just expect better from Davidoff. The box itself might be legit. 5
cigaraholic Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 It’s hard to tell from a photo but the comment about off- white/cream shade is spot on. 3
Çnote Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 That tax stamp looks like it spent a fair bit of time outside of a humidor 2
MrBirdman Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Classic sign of a fake is the white of the band. It’s probably Davidoff’s best (unintentional) security feature. Dead giveaway. 4
GaryK 54 Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 I also am looking at the bands as an indicator. The printing of Davidoff should be much crisper, and every letter should be distinct. The photos show the lettering as being thick with the letters crowded into one another. 2
JohnS Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 I agree with what has been said thus far. The box is probably real, the rest is not.

It is extremely difficult to tell from a photo which is why @MrBirdman is exactly correct about it being an unintended security feature. The off-white color is very subtle and unique, and for some reason comes through in photos much lighter or even white. Very few pristine examples exist today, i.e. almost all surviving examples have yellowing or signs of age. You'd need to see a pristine band in person and be able to compare it to your chosen stock for the fake bands to get it right. Here's something depressing: a box of 3000 sold at Christies in 2000 for £396. How times have changed... https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-1737057 3
JohnnyO Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 The cigars should be darker, way darker. This old man...John
Perla Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Hmmm Davidoff cigars always difficult with the origins or the source. In FB was a guy who was able to get hands on the bands. So he rebranded DomRep cigars and sold it to others. Result he was band in several renamed FB sites. He scammed an awful lot of people. IMHO, as stated above, the box is legit and the rest……… but I am not into Davidoff so what do I know.
cigcars Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 *Plus I don't recall ever seeing a "4000" Davidoff Habano.
