I was thinking Rob could organize a blind tasting with the Behike 56. You know, pick 50 volunteers and send 50 Behikes with  2 other laguito #6 cigars and see if anyone can pick out the Cohiba. Then we’ll know for sure if the Behike is all it’s cracked up to be and is worth the $$$.😄

But the line is three vitolas in unique sizes so there aren’t any similarly sized Cuban cigars. Now I understand why there are so many minutely different vitolas, so they can tell the cigars apart with out bands. The bastids.

A very expensive experiment. :D  Plot twist.  All samplers are Laguito No 6 custom rolls!  :lookaround:

Should just rename to "Pricehike"

… do I hear 500? Now six… For f’ing cigars! Perhaps cigars should be banned. Apparently they make you stupid! Food for thought.

I have a single left from a box I bought 3 years ago.  Willing to trade it for a box of D4's if there are any takers.

I'm sure their operating costs are mostly labor which is virtually nothing but yes, less units saves money on packaging and transportation, etc. But if production increases those costs rise back up. Unless they can continue to increase prices or at least demand continues at current prices the jig will be up.

We all know full well more price increases are coming. Why stop here? When they can keep pushing the prices higher and buyers will keep paying no matter how high they go. Rob is likely spot on, we will see PSD4 boxes for $600 or even more. I have no doubts at all.

But there is a limit. Could they sell D4 or Epi 2 at $700? $800? $1,000? Clearly inflation has had an impact but what, maybe 30% over 3 years? PSD4 was $220 in May 20. So while I have no doubt they'll continue to raise prices the laws of supply & demand still apply. If there's any blip in the economy or they raise supply one bit they'll be in serious trouble.

I think there is certainly a limit.

Their D4/Epi 2 pricing is probably where it should be (assuming all 25 cigars are sound). Neither cigar is in short supply and the market hasn't baulked at the current price. Job done.

They have some issues with other cigars. Excuse the pun, but the smoke is still clearing. They can take three routes as far as I can see.

A.  Reduce price

B  retain price and produce no more, Everything sells eventually.

C. B+  drop line and reintroduce new line.

Going the price reduction route is paved with danger for them.
