I bought this Eames chair at a steep discount when I was at the DWR outlet. I had been eyeing this exact combination for quite a while, but wasn't planning on buying one anytime soon. I've also been thinking about upgrading my GPU to one of the new ones, but I really can't justify it as I got a 3060ti last year and it does pretty much everything I need it to.

This was my splurge this year. Didn’t drop as much coin as many here, but it took a lot of fortitude to pull the trigger.

My 1977 Motobecane 40T moped. Ain't she a beaut!

Not exactly a buy, but for the second time in 5 years I got ambushed with a puppy at my parents. My cousin’s frenchie had a litter and they couldn’t find a home for this girl after 5 buyers fell throu

You bought it off of Chrono24?  I've bought and sold watches on there.  Great platform with low commissions.

I did. This would be the 5th watch I have purchased through Chrono24. :ok:

Oh and they implemented the stupid auto-off/on engine thingy. You can’t even disable it at once and forget about it.

That is a nice vehicle…and an even nicer parking space!!!

2023 Subaru BRZ M/T Limited. I put down the deposit a while ago, I’ll have it in a few months. I’m going to call this an impulse buy because it isn’t a particularly practical car and I don’t need it, I want it.

Did a bit of a splurge but also got a good deal (relatively). Much faster than I am, but a lot of fun to ride.

Di2 Ultegra? You liking it? Nice bike.

Thanks! I am new to Di2, disc brakes and tubeless. I really like Di2 so far--a bit of getting used to and had to teach myself a new way to do tolerances. Disc brakes are the dream though. Best stopping power I've had (with carbon wheels)...and might have been converted to tubeless given how good I felt after my last solo century on some rough tarmac. Just wish I was as fast as the bike wants me to be.

I’m not fast and I ride a Roubaix with mechanical Ultegra. Best bike I’ve had but not close to your new ride. Everyone I know who has the electric shifting loves it even after they disparaged it before they had it. I’m staying away from tubeless. My buddy who is very fast and dedicated has just given up on them after two years. they are a PITA even to get seated and can be a horror if you have a flat away from home. At least that’s what I’ve heard.

Does a 2nd trip to Disney in the same year count as an impulse buy? Lord knows it costs plenty! Haha

My truck had been in and out of shop for 3 months, in more than out. This came in while waiting for my truck at dealer. Wrote the check and brought it home. Definitely impulse, but no regret.

Tubeless is A LOT about the tires. I started with Vittoria Rubino Pros and HATED them. They're a nice ride, but they punctured a ton. Dynaplugs are great, but I just hated how often I was getting punctures. Probably the last time I'm gonna use non-conti's for a while.

Switched to Continental GP 5000 S TR and I am doing fine--plus an added rolling resistance boon. Stans No Tubes sealant, dynaplug, and a dollar bill can fix most everything--plus I still carry a tube just in case if things go REALLY sideways. I didn't have issues seating--it's easier to use an air compressor to do it,  but managed to seat them on the first try with a floor pump and a brief moment of dexterity to put the valve core back. Talk to me in a year if I still feel that way 😆

I too gave up on tubeless about a decade ago.  Tubeless would lose air too quickly and I didn't want to maintain them.

I am looking forward to the new Super Record wireless.  Local bike shop has one and he's digging it.

Part of being the highest authority on a construction site is to instil healthy doses of both fear and respect. This inspires neither. 😳
