Correct, LCDHs accept only non-US bank cards or MLC which can be bought with EUR at the airport for a $5 fee per card with card values up to $1,000. Correct, new prices were "official" as of June 11. The report was somewhat mixed. The LCDH's were pretty well stocked, but they weren't interested in Pesos, only Dollars, Euros or the new Cuban debit card. The card is good for 1 year and you can't redeem it if any monies are left unspent. Another interesting bit was that they didn't see ANY new product. Everything was from '16-19. Firaz only saw 1 box from 2020, all the rest were older. Even though I had shared the above price list with them before they left, I got the feeling they were all in sticker shock mode. They mostly bought singles. A high note, apparently the kiosks in the higher end hotels (Parque Central, Melia Cohiba, etc.) were selling singles at old prices, although from memory they usually had the pedestrian stuff in those... For US travelers, TSA is back to the cold-war days and are happy to yank random people from the que, grill them in the little room and confiscate everything they brought back. One of my crew was so lucky. It is still listed as a reason to go, but apparently TSA is strictly adhering to the rules that you must present your itinerary along with receipts. I think they were just shaking people down that came directly from Cuba. TSA has no authority to enforce Treasury Dept or OFAC policies. In fact TSA doesn't have any enforcement ability whatsoever. Neither does CBP in this matter. In fact the word "itinerary" doesn't even appear in 31 CFR § 515.574. Providing one to the OFAC is only supportive of your claim that you engaged in approved activities under the rule if challenged by the OFAC. First hand : Payment info is correct, they will only accept card payment in LCDHs and everything charged in USD on your non US card or the special card available from the cadeca. Have not been to Havana yet, will be there tomorrow onwards and can update but resort LCDH is full of 22 stock which is interesting if Havana LCDHs are all old stock. Stock in general is very thin compared to my last visit in December. Prices: all correct as per the spreadsheet here, old 'YUL' pricing is defunct. It's rather odd seeing CoRo at almost 70USD etc here on the island 😵💫 If anybody has anything they want me to look out for or report back on, happy to do so.
