London Shenanigans

What do the following have in common?

Gasoline and a match,  The Fox brothers in party mode?

"BOOM!"

And so it was on what started as a normal Thursday in old London town.

I was hosting BR meetings today at our Soho house. It is a great house in a dark street that may have a slight flaw when it comes to the early hours of the morning. Entry post midnight requires a jog, sidestep and a tuck and roll to the front door in order to avoid the 4  hooded gentlemen reaching for you offering "Charlie".  It is our London "fitness regime"

Meetings that don't involve lunch and wine hold very little appeal to me. It is all very school like with no hot teacher to keep you distracted. Still, i did my best to put on my "Director paying attention" pose and to be fair did a fantastic job hosting the opening session.  We finished early and went for dim sum in china town (2 minute walk) and a few glasses of wine.

I had to arrange the Cohiba Robusto to Fox St James for this evenings BR event. Rob Fox is putting on Sir Winston as well. Interestingly ..... like magic, the box of Cohiba Robusto somehow doubled in value somewhere between Brisbane and London. It is now one of the most valuable items in this city and hence I arranged an armoured van with police escort to take the box from Soho to Saint James.  It was a wild scene as the public flung themselves at the van like posessed zombies just to get a glimpse of the box of CORO. The police escort bravely hung on while over the loudspeaker: "move on! their Dominican!Nothing to see here!"

Meanwhile it was the afternoon session of our meetings. I was a dead loss having given all I had in the 2 hour session before lunch. Much to the rest of the teams disgust I decided to attend the meeting while doing my ironing and drinking rum. Multitasking at it's finest.

Time for the BR event and it was an absolute cracker. So good to see so many of you and to share great cigars and stories over a rum. Thank you to the JJFox staff and team

event finishes around 8:30 PM and Stuart Fox  says "To the Stafford!"

The story then gets very very loose  :o

Kicked out at 11:PM and Stuart Fox says "To the Red Lion!"

.....and you thought The Stafford was loose.

Did you know that you can turn an empty box of Cohiba Robusto into a bracelet/bangle?  it is the new "must have" accessory in London ....in the early hours of the morning.

Having seen the situation that was about to unfold (Fox's singing is the first sign), I warned Ben but he wanted to stay with Stu. There is only so much you can say to a rookie. I made an exit.

" You want Charlie?" Jog, sidestep, push off, tuck and roll and into the front door. 1:30am.  Great effort.

I heard Ben get home at 6am.  I will wake him at 10:45am for our 11am meeting and insist that he makes it.

I assume one of the others has woken up wondering why they are wearing a box of Cohiba Robusto on their wrist :D

Now that was a cracking day ;)

Tag yourselves if you were at JJFox. Would be nice to put faces to names.

@ha_banos I know, and met Rich Bernard, had a chat with @El Presidente and @bayala Saw @Ryan but didn't get a chance to chat before leaving.

Privileged. Massive thanks. Great evening.

Look at the first photo:

Rob’s mouth is open as he talks, but in the mirror it is closed. Is there a time warp in the mirror?!?
