Bought a 10-ct box last night on 2424.  I have a couple of singles from 2019 that were really good - sweet cedar bombs.  In the main, do the HDM EE's have a good reputation?  Any personal experience with them?

No. They're terrible. And you should send them to me for proper disposal.

I've heard nothing but praise for them and personally like them, but you should go in with the understanding that they need some time down to really get the full potential and complexity. I'd say less cedar and more coffee and cream.

I feel like EE/E2’s are an underrated cigar. Any time I have a novice looking to smoke a cigar I give them an EE/E2 and they love them. I love cedar, however. If you didn’t, different story.

Agree with @El Hoze - one's feelings towards the entire Epicure line seem to largely come down to your partiality for a woody/cedar dominant flavor profile. I don't much care for that, but the Epicures are the first place I'd point someone who does.

My mate gave me one the other day and it was absolutely terrific - definitely a cut above the Epicure 1/2 line. I still think it’s more of a morning cigar with pretty delicate flavours…

I’ve not got much space in the humidor but when I do I’ll definitely spring for a full box.

enjoy!

A nice and fairly consistent cigar. A really good one tastes like eating whipped cream with a spoon made of cedar. (At least it does for me)

Always been excellent, but I have not had any in recent years, I seem to go for Epi 2 since they have been on fire (literally) and I don't expect EE to be as good, need to put that thought into practice now...

These are one of my favorites and your advice is spot on.  I find them a little schizo when young, not harsh but containing some very sharp edges if that makes sense.  As they age they mesh together into one helluva smoking experience.  Cream and coffee for days with just a very pleasant tobacco taste to boot.  When treated properly I have never had a bad one.

Not a fan of the Hoyo profile, but love the EE sizing-

Ironically I'm the opposite. I like Hoyo, but 50 gauge is already above my limit. Did give EE a shot though.
