Trying to grab a few more boxes of small sticks, planning on smoking a box right away and putting one up for a year or two. I've only ever had 1 of each, enjoyed both quite a bit. The perlas had 8 years on it but was a power forward flavor bomb lots of mollases/honey notes. the rassc was quite young, still had a little bit of that stewed fruit flavor from RA but was a bit more rough around the edges then something like a RASS.

I'll probably be trying to get 2019/2020/2021 production, which of these two would you go for?

Third runner up is HuHCs, but I'm a bit on the fence since my last box was mostly tent pegs.

to many options, my wallets already looking real nervous over there 🤣

The RASSC age quite well too.  I've been enjoying a '14 box that has been lights out good.  Little flavour bombs.

Two totally different cigars.

RG Perlas are a smooth, floral, straight tobacco taste. Very high quality of course and extremely consistent and reliable. RASCC are quite strong and punchy. Very little fruitiness but I would say licorice and herbal, a little earthiness. Less consistent box-to-box than the RG Perlas.

Both are cigars I enjoy and would recommend buying.

This ^^

I will say my palate does seem to lean toward the flavor profile of the RASCC, but "buy both" is solid guidance. Good luck!

Cheap enough to have both on hand. They don’t do it for you, lay some down for later and trade the rest for some Mille Fleurs or Habaneros or Demi Tasse or…no need to commit to the entire box.

I like em both. A young RASCC reminds me of a szechuan stir fry. Lots of different flavors and spices. Age well. Have a few boxes going back to 13. Buy both of them. Normally can find each on sale.

perlas …more consistent and approachable

I think those two descriptions are 100% accurate.

I’m a RASCC fan. Been waiting for them to go on sale somewhere so I can get four more boxes. They are a great stick.
I like the perlas as well but find them to be more of a one trick pony. Like the Boli CJ, they can also lack a nicotine punch more than the RASCC.

BUT you know what they say about opinions. I’d still get a box of each if you are building a collection. If memory serves the short sticks tend to go on sale in July and August hoping to capitalize on those looking to shorter winter smokes. This year, with production slower and supply seemingly tighter the focus may be on those sticks that have a higher margin though. Covid does suck on many levels.
