Popular Post Bijan Posted January 30, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 30, 2021 I was going to review a Mag 46, but the temperature kept dropping so I went for something smaller (though still a relatively long smoke time after all). This was my 4th from this 6 pack. Weight wasn't heavy at all, but the bunching looked tight and the draw on these have been tight so I went with a 9mm punch. Not much aroma on the cigar, but pre-draw of mushroom and forest floor. Throughout the main flavours were cayenne spice and earth. First third: This was the spiciest third. Cayenne, spice and pepper with earth. Some mellower flavours in the spice, baking spice, cardamom and rose petals for a bi towards the end of the thirdt. Second third: Spice lets up, and sweetness builds up. Turkish delight but not the rosewater kind, the bergamot citrus and other kinds. Final third: Bitter for a short bit, marzipan, citrus peel, then sweet vanilla. Some cayenne spice comes back but only a little. Finishes with rich leather and tobacco with some mint. 70 minutes to the nub. Required one or two touch ups. It was interesting in that it followed the pattern of my first review where it started spicy and spice lessened as the cigar smoked on. First time I thought it might due to my use of the perfecdraw pulling out some of the spicier tobacco components in the second half, and so I avoided the perfecdraw but same result, so something inherent to the cigar. Temperature was frigid started out near -13.5C and ended up at -14.77C (8f to 5.5f). Humidity was high about 90%. No wind 0-1 km/h at ground level. I'd rate this another solid 4/5. Edit: My previous review for comparison: 15 1
MigsG Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 That’s really cold but you were well prepared. Great cigar for the weather. I personally like Bolivar in the winter. Nice review too, makes me want to get some, although I have some BRC coming! 1
Rhinoww Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 I admire your commitment. Down in the 29’sF for me this week and I’m down to 2 cigars this week. And thanks for the review. The Boli 3 has intrigued me. Helpful to have your review.
PuroDan Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Great review Bijan. Cold smoke is good smoke and i have really enjoyed smoking in the cold this year
Kaptain Karl Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Great review @Bijan!! These sound like they have far more complexity than your good BPC. I’ll need to snag a few soon! 1
Shrimpchips Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 Very thorough review as always @Bijan. Now that you’ve had four of these, have you noticed a significant difference in experience/flavors with smoking in the cold vs the very cold?

Not much flavour wise but smoke time seems to be up across the board. I'll have to see what happens when it gets warm again to tell if it's the cold for sure or if it's just me.

Probably me rushing things since I’m getting cold after 30-40min outside.

I wish these were available in dress box. I think they're one of--if not the best--cigars in this size class. If they were closer to $4 they'd be in my regular rotation.

Yeah I don't generally like tubos. But these are very nice. I'll probably try to get a box, especially if they are actually going to be discontinued. 43 minutes ago, NSXCIGAR said: If they were closer to $4 they'd be in my regular rotation. I'm definitely getting some. Just checked and they're about Bolivar Coronas Junior prices. This is definitely worth it to me. Smoke time is probably no less, maybe even more, and it's a more interesting smoke.
