How do you rate your cigars?

Recommended Posts

My CC rating scale is:

Below 90 pts - Dog Rocket or Donkey D@*k Rocket
90-93 pts - Good
94-97 pts - Excellent
98-100 pts - Magnum Opus

I think mine is somewhat similar between Ken and James Suckling. No mercy for dog rockets and donkey d@*k rockets! ?

Love it

Pretty damn good

Not a bad cigar

Smokeable but not earth shattering

Not great

Sucks

You should add dog rocket and donkey d@?k rocket category for the worst cigars you've ever had! ?

Cuaba... Will this marca can see the light at the end of the tunnel in some day?

I think this is part of the issue with rating.

Many in this world would consider an "89" a high rating, you consider an "89" a dog rocket or donkey dick rocket.

So 1-89 is bad. 90-100 is not bad.

That's a brilliant idea! Simple and straightforward!

1. Did I enjoy it - yes or no

2.a. If yes to q1, did i find it: ok; good; great; fantastic; 'inspired me to poetry'?

2.b. If no to q1, did i find it: mediocre; bad; completely unsmokable (any upmann aside from noellas are unsmokable for me, for example)

3. Did it have any burn, draw, construction, tar, etc, issues?

4. Comments on nicotine strength, smoke density, flavor development, value for dollar/my likelihood to buy again, etc.

Good or bad. High maintenance or turnkey. Broader opinions.

Only the 08 LE Piramides shines for me.

Others would disagree with me on Cuabas. Unfortunately, I have not met a reg production Cuaba that I enjoyed.

Divinos and Distinguidos are popular Cuaba cigars on forum though.

Thanks mate! Sad to hear that only 1 cigar shines in that marca.

I'm not sure why Cuaba gets so beat up around here. The Divinos have always been good. And the Distinguidos can be very good as well. The Salomones are also well received generally.

I know there's been some issues with the Tradicionales and Exclusivos but 3/5 models are decent.

I just followed the sort of system that Rob and Ken used on the videos, and it seemed to make most sense when posting on this forum (i.e in the method @Connoisseur Kim outlined).   But I have to confess, it's never really made any sense to me.   I would much prefer a straight either 1-100 or 1-10.        many cigars that I have felt to be good or very good would get a 70/7.     I would like more headroom to really distinguish those cigars that are truly a cut above, and excellent.
