I have to pop into South Beach Miami in March for a few days.

Would members have any accommodation recommendations....balcony...cigar friendly?  If you have stayed there and it ticks the boxes, let me know :ok:

Looking for good Hotels, Bars (Cigar friendly), restaurants ... good to top notch casual restaurants that have a smoking area.

Gracias :D

I have only stayed at the Betsy, northern most end of the strip ... nice place but a little too High class and stuffy for my tastes, but when with the wife it is what it is. They do have a great Restautant and on the balcony you can smoke and eat called LT. Nice ny strip. Good drinks and on the strip to people watch.

Puerto Sagua is really good Cuban food. Very casual and almost scary low budget but good. Not overpriced at all which in this area is pretty rare. It’s a few blocks off the strip but worth the visit. No smoking inside but to eat lunch it’s a must go.

The Clevelander is my favorite place for a drink and smoke. Right in the center of the strip and honestly I don’t think they have any rules ! Just a Total freak show ! But so worth a laugh, a cigar and a mojito. The people watching is almost always at a 10/10. Just wonderful.

Also if u have time and like a little diff scene Wynwood ( area of Miami ) is a short cab ride away and really fun. Clubs, bars and restaurants for days. It’s pretty hipster orientated but ok for a 1/2 day trip and has lots of murals and painted walls really cool scene. Open outdoor bars smoking yes. Booze yes. People yes. Good times.

Charlotte bakery has good Cuban coffee and Arepas .... just a block of the strip.

That’s my 2cents

Enjoy Miami is a blast !

I'm not much of a nightcrawler, so I can't recommend the chic haunts. But I stay at the National in a pool front room with a balcony that is very cigar friendly. Nice small hotel on the beach that is in great part of south beach. It's also acros the street from my two favorite morning spots: Rosetta and Les Moulins Lafayette.....an Italian and French bakery that are world class. The hotel is close to lots of chic places but it is comparatively quiet...can always sleep there. Have fun!

The Montecristo Lounge in Brickell is an excellent cigar lounge. It is a short cab ride away from South Beach. Also the outside bar at The Bazaar by Jose Andres sells cigars and excellent place to smoke. It is next to the Clevelander and is a little pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Eye candy can be amazing at times.

The South Beach establishments seem more smoke friendly because of quick access to the outdoors where it's often difficult to discern if you're inside or out?  But the real secret to enjoying South Beach is to make sure you have plenty of cash.

I always stay at the Fontainebleau, it's right on the beach. Clevelander is a great bar, but it also has a hotel. Food wise there are a ton of options, prime 112 is a great steak house, pricey but great. Enjoy!

You gonna tour Calle Ocho Pres?  Easily the highest cigar production in the states.

I have done it before but would love to spend a half day at least.

I will only be in miami for 3-4 days and the majority of that is on business. Then again my business is cigars so why not :D

Hey Rob - I live down in Miami. A few thoughts:

Hotels, my top pick for nicest hotels w balconies, outdoor smoking, on the beach, whole bit would be the Edition. It is owned by Marriott.

Another, more quirky option for hotel, would be Soho House. Soho House is a private club that is very cigar friendly, but they have hotel rooms that anyone can reserve that allows access to the private club/beach/pool. We are members so happy to hook you up if it interests you.

For restaurants that are very smoking friendly I would recommend Bazaar at SLS Hotel...great Spanish food, great vibe. Another pick is at the north end of the beach in Bal Harbour is a Japanese place called Makoto. In their indoor courtyard bar area you’ll feel super comfortable smoking and the food is off the charts. I eat there no joke 3 times a week (I live right in the area).

Not Joe's Stone Crab!  :P

If you want a great very late night snack, the gyros from Sultan Restaurant on Collins St is really good. I went back there 3 times when I was last in Miami.

Art Deco Cigar on Lincoln Road Mall is a decent outdoor place for a smoke, drink and people watching.

People watching is always an experience in South Beach.

Stay inland and cab it to the beach. Better rooms, better $...

Don’t buy that box of Especials from the nice guy on the street corner! ?

Edition is nice.  Ritz-Carlton SouthBeach will be open again in about 10 days though so it's another nice option for Rob by the time he gets there in March.

March is college basketball season.

march 19 and 21 will see regional play in Tampa just up the road. These games are quite a spectacle. Just sayin...

By right up the road you mean a 4-5 hour drive? I guess that's nothing for an Aussie!
