bbguardsp Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 For those who've tried both - any worthwhile difference? Thanks.
PrairieSmoke Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Aside from the size difference I find the Escogidos to be more flavorful than the DC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The Escogidos are absolutely outstanding and good young. I love the DCs too but they need at least 3 years down 1 2
Lotusguy Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I much prefer the Escogidos over the DC. No downtime needed and more variation over the length. DCs bore me these days. 1 2
Islandboy Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Yep, there’s definitely an added depth and richness to the flavor, but I do taste some DC dna as well. 2
Tstew75 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Maybe I'm in the minority here, but this release is one of the more oddball LCDHs along with the (unneeded) Connie B. Definite Hoyo DNA, but not special in any way. Similar size to the already great DC, a bit more expensive. I'll stick to 3+ year old DCs. 1
Popular Post El Presidente Posted December 17, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 17, 2019 I had a look through them last week. We will see them in January. Interesting indeed and I have taken a box to try over the break. 9 1

mt1 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Escogidos have been delicious, I can't seem to get my hands on a box! The flavors are more intense and it's tastier overall than the DC. 2
SigmundChurchill Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I smoked the one they gave me at the Partagas Festival, and I didn’t like it very much, but then I smoked one yesterday and it was very good. Very flavorful, and stronger than the DC. I think the problem with the one at the festival is that it was my 5th or 6th cigar of the day, so at that point, I wasn’t tasting anything. I was smoking Just so I wouldn’t be the only one not smoking at a Partagas Festival. 1 1
Puros Y Vino Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I always found Hoyo DC's to be underwhelming and far too light bodied. The Escogido is a huge improvement. Though mine fizzled out at the halfway point and became banal. I'm hoping the next one I try is better. 1
medzikone Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I smoked one in March. I was very suprsied how many flavour and strength it had. Very floral, wet grass etc. Last month I took part in Habanos World Challenge qualifies and it was one of gifts. Looking really cool. And it would be a great oppourtunity to revise my opinion 3 1
mbflash80 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 grabbed a couple of boxes because of this thread...not a cigar I would have given much thought to otherwise...now I am looking forward to smoking them young! 1
mtapia3 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Is it just me or does HDM have way too many LCDH specialty releases? Were the first two really that successful? Or is HSA struggling to sell regular production HDM?

It looks like they have a winner in this one 1
