El Presidente Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I love old cigar photos/cigar art. To be honest, anything that shines a light on the rich history of our passion. You may have a treasure trove of digital photos/art. You may wish to google up a few and do your own research. Post them up 1
Popular Post El Presidente Posted December 5, 2019 Author Popular Post Posted December 5, 2019 I saw this yesterday. This scene from a cigar factory in 1909 St. Louis. Brilliant. 4 1
kalibratecuba Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I've been reading through some old issues of a tobacco trade paper. It mostly covered the Northeastern United States. I screenshoted a number of items, but thought the pictures I chose are the most relevant to those on here that are always shooting for the perfect humidity levels.Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk 2
sho671 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Some Christmas themed ads. Even getting Santa's endorsement. 1
sho671 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I learned that Dunhill used to source H. Upmann, HdM, Punch, Montecristo and Belinda cigars from Cuba and offer variety boxes/samplers. This ad is from 1955 for a H. Upmann variety box. What ever happened to the Cabanas brand and its perfection? 1 1

I like how that advert mentions "mild" 5 separate times. Seemed a little excessive. It's amazing how many brands were around in the 19th century all the way up to the revolution, and then how many disappeared after the revolution. I have no idea how that many brands thrived and how many different cigars and vitolas there were and how to go about choosing one to smoke. I thought there were a lot now!

HDGSN Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Some from my town of Chattanooga, Tennessee... The tall building is the James Building 100 lonsdales...my kind of order 3
PigFish Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 While not exactly cigar art, certainly cigar artistry and history. This is Clark Gable's (Rhett Butler from Gone With The Wind) gold cigar box to be auctioned tomorrow in Los Angeles. 2 1
