Popular Post Islandboy
Had the first one out of the box last night - it was seriously good. I went on a quest recently to have some Salomones in my humidor. This came after thoroughly enjoying the Cuaba Salomones I received in a prize sampler a while back. It seems Rob has a knack for expanding one's horizons when it comes to prize sticks. This is a beautiful cigar, with a flawless dark brown wrapper. Cold aroma is very rich fine tobacco. Once underway, the smoke that surrounds me is as aromatic as it gets, with a very unique mix of fine spices and interesting smells. This cigar is complex and intriguing, and while I struggle to identify everything I’m tasting, it’s immediately apparent the blend excels in its balance. There’s no pepper at all - let’s start with that. There’s a rich cocoa and leather spine that will carry through to the end. There’s also the earthiness of a Bolivar, the baking spices and caramel of H Uppman, and there’s a Partagas-spiced twang to it. I’m also getting some wonderful stone fruit, as well as a touch of vanilla. There’s so much going on, the fine balance of it all amazes me. There weren’t any wildly complex transitions, with the first third being the richest flavor-wise, smoothing out in the second, and becoming a bit nutty in the third. Construction and burn were spot on, and the ash hung tight for an inch at a time. I happily nubbed it. Total time was 2 hrs of pure enjoyment, this was incredibly tasty. I give it a solid 93. If you like the fuller tasting Cubans that Bolivar and Partagas bring you, but also want some sweetness and finesse - give any of the Daughters of the Wind a try, you may be surprised. The trifecta, for comparison:
Guest Nekhyludov
I've loved every DOTW I've smoked. Your description is right on.

It’s a relatively new brand, less than 5 years old I’d guess, but up until a year ago were called “Bespoke”. Some legal issue caused them to change to the owner’s last name - Casdagli. The Daughter’s of the Wind line - which is a reference to Bedouin racing horses of some nature - has garnered a fair bit of critical acclaim. Try some!
duabley
Ive tried a couple of these (a lighter wrapper tho) and they are fantastic, but almost harder to find than siglo 6 and damn near as exspensive. Great review!
Wookie
I have most of the Bespoke/Casdagli blends and they are all top-notch and extremely consistent. He works with at least a couple different blenders/factories and it amazes me what he creates.
cigcars
*Having read you all's reviews of this Casdagli Daughters of the Wind smokes I hunted some up on the web and have 2 sizes on the way to me now - one pyramide and one petite salomane (probably spelled wrong). I'm hoping to enjoy as much as you all have said you did, even though I DON'T LIKE Costa Rican tobacco, the other tobacco make up in this sounds fantabulous!
