50/50 this week is about the pleasure of household chores.

All about 50/50...

50/50 is a weekly poll where we find out whether or not some serious bones of contention questions can be finally be buried or will instead remain above ground as a fleshy 50/50 debate... you know, such weighty issues as these...

Doing laundry, it's only once or twice per week. It can be done whenever according to your schedule. The dishes have to be done day in day out.

I do all of the cooking in the house, so doing the dishes just makes sense. Hate laundry day.

Dishes for sure. I can buy paper plates and disposable utensils for the lazy weeks. Not much can be done for laundry.

Can't choose the dishes.  After a good dinner of pasta and steak (which I cooked) with wine, I just need to kick back with some whisky, and in the right company, a cigar.  Can't break the flow by doing the dishes before the whisky and cigar.  Won't be in any fit state to handle washing Riedel glassware and congealed beef dripping after the whisky.  Leave it overnight, you say?  Can't - OCD.

King of the Kitchen is my name.  And doing Dishes is my game. I’ve got a super secret system down that gets this done in a blink.  Laundry is everyday in our house that is like a never ending avalanche.

I deal with doing dishes a lot.  I like the task as it’s meditative.  But laundry is so darn easy.  You never get dirty!  And when you fold, you are only dealing with repetitive behavior and it’s clean!  Podcast time!!!  No brainer for me.

Doing laundry for sure. In between washing there is some downtime to smoke a minuto or PC.

Laundry. It's relatively easy. Besides it's not like I have to haul the clothes down by the river and scrub them on the rocks. You're basically putting your clothes away after your machines do all the work.

Dead split after my vote! I put laundry because it’s less total work over the course of the week (2-3 loads of laundry for my girlfriend and I vs. 10-20 meals worth of dishes). Still, if time expenditures were equal I’d rather do dishes. It’s straightforward and mindless vs. trying to figure out what exactly this particular feminine article is, how one goes about affixing it to a hanger and where it should go. Also- my clothes get washed and dried on normal or they go to the dry cleaner. Not so with feminine clothes. Further, it seems that every week there is some new article in there that I’ve never seen in my life.

Dishes. I for some reason get angry, for real, when folding laundry.

Actually do both in our household. Wife cooks, I do dishes. And the wife is a clean person, so laundry is done almost everyday.

Close to a 50/50 on this one, with the Dishes being the slightly preferred chore... I'm not sure what profound insight that gives us but there you go... ?
