Baccy Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Sweet looking scissors. I'd love to get a set, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Does anyone know who makes these?
Meklown Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 China makes everything .. plenty of these on taobao (Chinese Amazon) Quality not guaranteed but I'm using one pair that cost me around ¥100 (~US$15) and it's fantastic. Still sharp after 2 years. Also not sure if it's by coincidence or design, it cuts a slight concave shape which I really like.
99call Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 They look like a rip off of "must be Cartier"
BrightonCorgi Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Scissors are my default way to cut a cigar. Just don't cut too quick. There's a little technique to get the cut really clean and even.
kalibratecuba Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 I have five different types of cigar scissor. The one I bought in China can't cut anything. I have the black and red handled one above. I like the hole feature, but it's not perfect and the aesthetic is lacking. This one made me think that I should design my own. I like how easy the Xikar cigars are to use for cutting and trimming. I don't like it's utilitarian design, save when I want to use it on the road. Anyone use quail egg scissors on a cigar? nKostyan Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 There is another option. There are craftsmen making handmade knifes. They have excellent powder steels and shaped metal cutting equipment. It will be not cheap, but it will be really reliable as a hunting knife thing.
Baccy Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 nice scissors there Lotus... I may have to look into those, although I'm sure they aren't cheap?

They weren't too bad - something like 100 euros when I bought them, but I am currently unaware of any US retailers
