I taught a quick cooking class to a friend and his wife last night.  He complains that her chicken is too dry and that her cooking, in general, is uninspired.  So I taught her how to brine chicken breasts and then I demonstrated the technique for making a nice reduction sauce.  In this case it was a brandy, cream, stock, peppercorn sauce.  (sauce au poivre).  Well, this friend is a very generous soul.  To thank me, he left behind a bottle of Michter's 10 year and the box pictured below.  My problem is this:  I quit smoking cigars for 10 years and I have no boxes older than 2014 in my possession.  So i have no idea when Habanos SA implemented the barcode on its authenticity sticker.  Can anybody help me out with an opinion on whether these are authentic?  Thanks in advance!

Without delving too deep seems legit.  I have a box of those le and nothing seems off.  The little sticker with the barcode implies it's from a vendor that I've used ans trusted.  Obviously that shouldnt be the make or break authenticity check but all signs point to legit from a quick look.

Theres a suspect thread in the forum that may be more appropriate for getting responses.  I've been pointed there in the past

I've seen them where all looks good on the outside but looking very suspect once the lid is opened. :unknown:

They looked real without delving into more details.

Usually, about this point, I will have asked how are they smoking but you mentioned that you have quit.

So, the next thing will be to have a look at the cigar and just confirm the quality of the wrapper, bunching of the tobacco at the foot and no hard spots.
