Member's pick for the poll this week, and the classic superpower question got the nod - flying or invisibility... However, as with a lot of these, I don't think it should be quite that simple. Life demands that a balance be paid (yes, I said Life, not wife - however, that is also true) and therefore so should these made-up poll scenarios. Right?... Well, we're going with that anyway... Thus... Conditions apply:

Condition 1. If you choose Invisibility, then you must consider that if you use your superpower to break the law (including any sort of invasion of privacy - you bunch of pervs) then you are guaranteed to rather violently crap yourself out in public at some random point afterwards, at which time your invisibility powers will fail you for 1 week. 

Condition 2. If you choose Flying, then there'll be a 1 in 10 chance that every time you land you will lose an inch... off your height. 

Other than that, same drill: read the question, vote on the poll, elaborate in the thread if you so desire. Voting participants go into the draw for an El Pres sampler! - Drawn next Wednesday (Aus local time).

All about 50/50...

50/50 is a weekly poll where we find out whether or not some serious bones of contention questions can be finally be buried or will instead remain above ground as a fleshy 50/50 debate... you know, such weighty issues as these...

If given no other option:

are you a Cohiba or Monte person? 

do you prefer Hunnicutt or Trapper in M*A*S*H? 

Connery or Moore as Bond?

Apple or PC?

Smooth or Crunchy peanut butter? 

do you prefer wearing men's or women's underwear?

Sacrificing chickens or virgins?

...that sort of standard fare.

I already have IBS and don’t feel like sitting in air traffic. Invisibility would be nice to sit in on things I’d otherwise not be able to sit in on. Secret meeting etc

the conditions are a great twist, makes the choice easy: invisibility.

that said i have no real desire to be invisible.  flying would be to occasionally give my feet a rest, but the height loss would be too much. i'm no basketball player.

I would absolutely have chosen flying - experiencing that is the dream. But the condition pushes me into invisibility, no question about it.

That's fine for a baldy like me. I'll take that! 

But no, the chance of shrinking is 1 in 10. I'd take that roll of the dice. A lot better than Russian Roulette.

Always invisibility.  My version of this was stop time vs flying.  But I’ll do invisibility

Invisibility and it's not even close. Besides, as I age, there will be a solid chance I'll just crap my pants naturally, so a little practice in anticipation for that, if it gets me invisibility, is still well worth it.

I can’t see any reason to need to be invisible if you aren’t doing something illegal or at least devious. With the given  conditions I think flying is a no brainer.

Afraid of air travel so no flying for me! Not a perv but man, invisibility can be very handy!

But if you are invisible, ie light passes right through or bends around you... so too are your eyes. You are effectively blind.

I'd really prefer flying, but the condition kills it as an option - I'd have lost all my height before the end of the year, and I guess at that point I'm dead. Invisibility it is.

Besides, with flying trapeze I already have a 1 in 10 chance of losing an inch off my height every time I land.

Flying will be a great ability in a pinch.  The height is a bummer but if you fly enough you will be less visible (boom).  I already have the power of invisibility (socially at least)

At 6'2", I could still fly 10 times and still be 5'2". And at 63 yr old, who cares? ? I would still be flying!

This is where it gets interesting... any breaking of the law counts, no matter how minor or who it's against. And the crappage can happen anytime after that... so it could happen while you're still doing said offence, then the powers are instantly gone for a week... So you're revealed and in the poo, literally and figuratively!

With flying, you could potentially use the power and never suffer the condition. Or if you're generously or freakishly tall it might be a godsend.
