Decent cheap bourbons

I have had the Four Roses and thought it was good, anyone tried any of the others?

Russels reserve and woodford double oak are different but equally as good. I prefer the russels, as the woodford is much sweeter for my taste. If you can find it, Elijah Craig barrel proof is an all time favorite. Well worth double its shelf price of $60.

I have recently tried Willett - Excellent bourbon for the price.   Great bottles design as well.   Give it a try if you can find it.  Well under 60 bucks.

Buffalo trace is the best price/quality ratio. Next up for me is regular makers mark. Both great on the rocks or in a mint julep, old fashioned...

Let me know when you find willet for under 60 and I'll do almost anything to get it from you. I've been bourbon hunting for over 2 years and have yet to see any of their offerings in the wild. Elmer t lee is 35 bucks, and most stores here get one case and sell out in 10 minutes. Weller 12 year retails for 40 and I have never seen a bottle in person, my friend paid 150 for a bottle in Vegas just because he was tired of looking and never finding it.

Eagle Rare might be my favorite bourbon. $28 for 750ml or $52 for the 1.75 liter just can't be beat. No better bang for your buck.

I've been digging Basil Hayden. Inexpensive, readily available, has become a go to for me and is keeping me from drinking my all my good scotch.

Old forester 100 proof, bulleit Bourbon, four roses single barrel, Elijah Craig small batch, weller 12-hard to find, Buffalo Trace, wild Turkey single Barrell, basil Hayden, I guess it depends on what part of the world you’re in, i find these pretty easy in Chicago

Where are you that Willet is hard to find? Very curious as I work as closely as I can with them...If ELT is $35, W12 should be closer to $25. People charge what they want/can, but that's a weird ratio between those two bottlings.

Looking at this list, it's 1 marquee from 5 companies that have $ to spend on marketing. Note the lack of Sazerac and Heaven Hill, no real, unbiased bourbon list would manage to miss both.

Look for store picks of Knob Creek, should be $50ish.

But, yeah, Four Roses Single Barrel is considered by many to be 'it' under $50.

Around $75, you may find store picks of Four Roses Private Reserve. It's always good and the price is VERY fair for what it is.

At suggested retail:

Blantons, Bakers, Bookers, Knob Creek 120pf, Weller 107, Elijah Craig (heck the barrel proof is around $60) all good places to start. 

Im currently enjoying a Colonel E.H Taylor small batch I bought at Costco for $38 and it’s might tasty. I prefer the Single Barrel and Barrel Proof more but they also cost a bit more.

For me the Four Roses Single Barrel is tops out of that selections.  The Russell's is good as well. 

My daily bourbon is Buffalo Trace.  Great prices at Costco when they have it.

As above, Eagle Rare is possibly my number one bottle even though there are ones worth 10-20x the price on our shelves. Also Weller Private Reserve, the green label or red. I know the green is very reasonable.

Virginia and north Carolina. Both abc controlled. My brother lives in Lexington, and he hasn't found any there in the few years he's been there. That w12 price was from the va lottery, I believe it was the 1 liter bottle. That ratio of pricing is all based on msrp controlled by the state.

I also recommend Knob Creek 100, for a little more money I find (if you like a high rye) the 120 proof Knob creek is pretty on point almost all the time.

Henry McKenna 10yr is sub $30 at Costco and bigger liquor chains.

Great bang for the buck and a slap in the face to some of the big names mentioned repeatedly in this thread who have removed their age statements over the last few years while raising prices at the same time.

Breckinridge bourbon's need to be on that list.  Their regular Bourbon has always been good, But, Their relatively new Port Barrel Aged bourbon is amazing.
