I'm a sucker for a new phone and after nearly throwing mine off the roof in true Ayala style this morning I stumbled across this video ?

Heh heh, make ‘em bigger and charge more money for ‘em. Now where have I seen that marketing strategy employed lately?

That's Apple in a nutshell alright.

A lot of people have been saying that the latest iPhone release has been the most lackluster.

Anyone who buys an Apple anything, really is mentally retarded.

And this comes from a man that has to shell out on a new Apple every 18 months for Her Indoors.

That certainly is.  I think it should anyone who buys Apple just to be in the Apple club is retarded.

Other times though, it is a well thought-out purchase.  I'm a photographer and the graphic softwares just work better on an Apple.

I will contest though that I gave a good deal of thought on going PC during Apple's 5 year hiatus of not upgrading their desktops.

If you want a real video editing rig you can build one yourself, with far superior hardware, for a fraction of the cost. My current desktop cost me less than the newest Iphone is slated to cost and less than a basic 13" Macbook pro, but I still have an I7 8700k, 1080ti, 4TB of storage and enough horsepower to edit 4k footage in real time, without compression. I'm not aware of any apple product in any price range that is capable of that. Especially without thermal throttling:

I agree with @hedgeybaby. Anybody who willingly purchases Apple products has some major deficiencies in their decison making process. And thats being generous.

Of course, but that would all take time.  Sorry, I'm not that much into computers that I want to learn how to build them and then build them.

It's kind of like rolling a cigar.  Cool to try, but do you really want to roll every cigar you have?

I have my profession that takes up most of my time, and my hobby, cooking, that I fill in the rest with.  This hobby is nice too, but used more for decompression.  But computer building, no thank you.  I would rather have the middle man do that and allow me to make more off of what I do best, photographing architectural.

P.S. A mentor of mine once told that as soon as I can outsource a task that does nothing else but the obvious, to out source it.  Building computers does nothing more then the obvious.  I'm not putting on a show for my clients, I'm not developing skills that will make me more money, I'm not networking or building client relationships for what I do.  It would not do anything for me other then the obvious.

When anyone speaks so broadly - about anything, really -  it surely reflects upon them, and not those they try to paint

Oh so true.

Not surprised, coming from the person that made a similar generalization about certain foods.

That’s right. I’m Chinese and enjoy eating foods that others view as cheap trash that are all prepared from scraps of the earth. Obviously, as I’ve been told...

I also choose to use apple products because I lack originality to fight mainstream trends... waste time and effort on poorly integrated products, that could otherwise be used to spend time with my wife, kids, and dogs.... bash others over an inanimate object... and try to feel unique by trying to associate my identity in this world with a phone and computer.

BTW... if anyone is unable to change your own motor and trans oil, replace an alternator, replace a battery, change brake rotors and pads, change wipers or headlights, rotate tires, change spark plugs, clean a throttle body, or bleed brake and clutch lines... but have to pay someone else to do it... then they should be considers lazy, unoriginal, and mindless as well. Makes sense??

There are valid points to both arguments.

My relationship with technology basically began in 2001 when I bought my first PC. Within 2 years I was dual-booting Windows and Linux. I think this indicates that I am the type of person who personalises their devices and eschews closed-source software. However, others enjoy convenience when it comes to their technology.

I have never bought an Apple product because I can't personalise their products as well as I can with Non-Apple products. Having said this, I do respect Apple as being innovative and leaders in technology. One doesn't have to be a mechanic to appreciate and drive a car.

Thank you for your insights in this thread, however, let's keep things on track folks hereon in.

I don't have a problem with iPhone. I have a problem with iPhone users. Where I live, maybe because of the price, they think they are somehow better than others.

No.

I am lying. Besides the camera I don't like iPhones.

PS: Blackberry I still miss you but I am sure one day we will meet again. I love you.
