Basically, the best most hard earned pint of beer you've ever had? how did you feel, and was one enough?

I've had a few is my life, working in the kitchens for years, but a few stand out.  Conserving a football field sized church ceiling, and having to rip out, all the failed lath horse hair plaster out, with one other mate, Jesus, the back breaking work for weeks and week, terrible safety equipment, and couldn't see a thing  Every night we'd come down the long ladder from the scaffold, as black as coal, from the foot deep layer of industrial age soot, that would fall on us in bucket loads.

We would reach the pub, and people would look at us like we were off a film set from some sort of Mining disaster movie set. That first pint would get poured, and as you'd grab it in your hand all the cold condensation would seep into, and sooth the cracks in your fingers. Then the first gulp, would wash away all your aches and pains........simply glorious.

I well deserved beer is a magical thing.........what was your best?

First time I tried catching at trapeze.  I had been flying for 12 months when they asked me if I wanted to learn how to catch as well.  I figured how hard can it be - they basically just sit and swing on the catch trap, and when it's time to catch, hang underneath and hook their legs on.  The guys that were doing it always made it look effortless.  After two minutes of swinging, I was drenched in sweat, and my efforts to hang underneath and hook my legs on resulted in me nearly falling off.  Turns out it's much harder than it looks - go figure.

After a few weeks of practising just swinging up there and getting to the correct position, they decided I was ready to actually catch somebody.  That first day, I did 10 catches, and when I was done my entire body ached, my legs were bruised and I could barely walk.  It was the most physically exhausted I have ever been.  The beer that afternoon was magnificent, but one was enough.  I basically went home afterwards and passed out.

AFL Grand Final Day 2017. My two favourite things combined. Football and spearfishing. I never thought my Tigers would make the GF so booked a spearfishing trip to Tonga. GF day we were spearing wahoo around a live volcano then raced back to catch the last half of the football. A beer was plunged into my hand as we hit the resort where the game was on and my Tigers were in front. Tonga is 2 hours in front of Australia so we had been spearing all day. Demolished the beer as the Tigers went on to demolish Adelaide. PS. I'm off to the Qualifying final tonight! Go Tigers!

After completing my first Xterra off-road triathlon in 2002. Hadn’t had a single drop of alcohol in my 8 months of training leading up to it. Damn that beer tasted good!

I'm an air traffic controller and I'm currently deployed at sea. We were at sea for 40 days before the ship stopped anywhere and the Heineken I slammed in 1.8 seconds in a Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia hotel lobby was definitely one of the most well deserved beers of my life. This stint at sea we're currently on is going to be longer than the last, so I'm going to say my next beer will be my most well deserved beer!

I still remember the first beer I had after 13 weeks on Paris Island. Hands down the best I've ever had.

If you're not in the military it can probably be a good time! We were restricted to the city limits off of the pier so we didn't have much aside from the mall and the waterfront. I didn't enjoy any of the local food and thought it was really dirty - however, outside of the city limits looked nice and we weren't allowed to go there. Maybe another time!

After completing an Ironman, had not had a beer in a week or so (aka a long time) and it was a long day basically thinking about drinking a cold beer. Had it right at the finish line waiting for me, a PBR tall boy ice cold.

The payday pint after you've had to survive on crumbs all month because you spunked all of your money on that pay day pint.

Can't imagine the pure bliss of that beer. The iron distance triathlon is on my bucket list.

My Shawshank.  Roofing during summer break from college with an Irish crew in Boston.  I was what they referred to as "the shingle bitch."  The title makes it sound even more glamorous than it really was.  I carried bags of shingle up a ladder, one on each shoulder, to the roof (usually 2-3 stories) and dropped them.   Hot as shit and no mercy from these guys.  My legs were bulging, veiny, and shaking like I had Parkinson's at the end of the day.  That first ice cold cheapie while we were packing up was heaven sent.  The 5 or 6 that followed came in a close second.  Shower, pass out, repeat.

Love this phrase.  I had an old mate who (as a teenager) had the job of cleaning pigeon shit of cranes (some whilst still up)......his boss lovingly gave him the nick name "F**k Dust"!!???............I have no idea what it means.....but it's hilarious.

If you have the time it’s a great experience, and you can drink as much beer as you want for like a year and never gain weight which is an added benefit!
