Looks like a mini taser. Hmmm, taser as cigar lighter.....

Maybe you can get one in reflex blue to match the new ride. And your new jeans.... :D

@El Presidente I’ve looked into these. It’s just an induction arc (think small tesla coil). Great for cigarettes, but not so much for a cigar.

It doesn’t produce convection heat like a flame. It will only light material that comes in direct contact with the arc. This means that it will only light a very small surface area of material. Would be heaps of work to light a cigar with it.

I saw a commercial for this thing the other day.  It actually shows a guy smoking a cigar and says it great for it but I think that is a bunch of crap.  Cool item though for a variety of other uses/scenarios.

I bet it will eventually light a cigar, if you're not winded or half faint.

I can tell you from personal experience that they will not light a cigar. They will light a Cohiba Short, though.

These ones are the first generation of the plasma lighters. This particular version is only good with small items that comes into contact with the arc of electricity.

The newest version is 3 arcs and better positioned but it is still in a very small area, which will take forever to light evenly.

There is a Youtube video of a person saying that these (the triple arc) can light a cigar but it is not evenly lit.

They are fun but not for cigars.

Agree. Highly doubt even a triple arc would effectively light your cigar. By the time you have lit your cigar, @JohnS would have finished his churchill...

So would a bic ?

That’s probably the lowest maintenance way around not being able to fly with the torch, honestly. A few planks of cedar in the traveldor and a bic. Good to go ??

Amazon prime is your friend. ‘Scorch torch’ is $12 shipped in 2 days. I traveled by plane in november. Had my lighter waiting for me when i got to my buddy’s house. Hit a hardware store for some butane and was good to go.

Nice. Had to leave it there when you left I'd expect. That's not going through in carry-on...

... does it have a defibrillator option?

Yes it does, but it annoys those around you when you yell 'Clear!' every time you light up.
