Popular Post El Presidente Posted January 9, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 9, 2018 When I was in Havana it was planned that I would catch up with a friend of mine there ( an excellent roller) and see if I could bed down a cigar that I would like and that I could make available to FOH members who are travelling through Havana. I drafted in Jose and took advice from Hammy as he was there. It was a fun project. After a couple of hours discussion over what I would like to achieve and a little bit of a play with tobacco, it was decided that three blends would be finalised for final evaluation. The brief in short was rich, aromatic, smooth and slightly sweet. Samples were blended, rolled and distributed for final evaluation. All blends were excellent but we all agreed this week that one was indeed special. Ths cigar size is 40 gauge by six inches. It has a beautiful tactile feel in the hand. Not too small, not too large. Classic. I have named it La Puntilla (two LL's is pronounced a Y). Puntilla is the nail used in the hand crafting of boxes. Puntilla is also where my favourite house in Havana is located and where I decided a few years ago that if I was going to do a custom it would be 40 gauge x 6 inches. They will go into production over the next month and should be available end of Feb. Havana pick up only i'm afraid but I will let you know how to order them (or pick them up) in a few weeks. I just wanted to make a cigar that I would love to smoke myself 25 1
BuzzArd Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Gratbsize choice! Looking forward to the final product. Odering would be NICE, as Havana isn't on my "to visit" list any time soon. Thanks for the update El Prez! 1
PatrickEwing Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Well done! If you could point to one, is there a blend in production today that’s most similar?
99call Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Great work, sounds like an awesome prospect, gutted they wont be available to order online

raymond5737 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Dear Rob: I must say, this has got to be one of the coolest efforts any one has ever undertaken for anyone that smokes Cuban cigars. I'm so proud of what you are doing for FOH!

You can always have someone mule back a few. They will be available from 2 locations in Havana only. Pricing commensurate with other customs in Havana. You can pre order from late feb/march. Pay at pick up. There is no moola in this for me outside of not having to pay for mine 1 2

Hat's off! looks like you've made the cigar, all of us winge-ers have been after
CigarmanTim Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Havana pick up only? Arg sort of like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown It does sound great. Love that format
luvdunhill Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Out of interest, This looks a bit like a Des Dieux mashed up with a LGCMD no 4. If you could describe what you were trying to achieve by referencing other existing cigars, what would it be??Maybe something like post #13?

vivalanation734 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Superb vitola. Now I just need to get to Havana.
