Being relatively new to the world of CC's I don't have any aged stock in my collection. So I ask you this...what would you buy to smoke right now?

It all depends on specific taste, so the responses will be all over the place. For me, I find that youngish PLMC, PLP, Monte #1, Cazadores and Fonseca #1 are all decent enough to smoke and enjoy.

I'd say both the brands of Por larannaga and Quai D'Orsay would not only reward you for smoking them fresh, but will only go up from there. Both quite cheap options too

Lots of people here seem to rate RG Perlas for young tasty smokes. SCDLH El Principe, Upmann Half Coronas

If you like things strong and uncomplicated R&J Cazzies.

For my 2017 box codes, I have 2 that are smoking far and away better than the rest: Connie A and HdM DC.

For reference, the other 2017 boxes I have that mostly need more time are Dip 2, PSE2, RyJ Churchills.

A surprise addition to my humidor last week was a very welcome cheap and cheerful box of RyJ Belvederes - what tasty little cherry bombs they are!

I was a little bummed out by my last box of these--what's the code on yours?

I was thinking that the Connie A would be my next pick up actually.

Monte #4 smoke well young and it’s fairly easy to get some with a couple years on them already.

In general, I find that lighter wrappers with relatively little sheen/oil seem to smoke pretty well young (1-2 years box age). Examples of this for me have been SCdlH El Principe, RG Perlas, Montecristo PE, and RyJ Wide churchills. Some more experienced smokers may say these lack a bit of depth and complexity because of this, which is fair, but I’ve enjoyed then nonetheless. Just one man’s experience though, so mileage may vary.

The Connie A is good.  All my Partagas Series D #4's have been great ROTT and even better later on.  Same with the HdM Epi 2, although they can be a bit spicy early.

PSD4 is my favourite robusto to date.

I would second the punch punch and Connie As. Neither have let me down when I’ve had them with under 12 months of age

I think the best of 2017 list pretty much translated into what's smoking well fresh...

Notable omissions from the list that seem to be rock solid are Connie A, Cuaba Distinguidos, RA Superiores, RG Perlas, RASCC. Can't go wrong with any of those.
