A special day deserves a special cigar, so a few months ago I picked out my Rafael Gonzalez 88 Asia Pacific for Christmas Day.
But I've since read they aren't quite ready.

I could also pick one of my LEs.
I have Monte 80th, Monte Dantes, Bolivar Super Corona and Trinidad Topes, but alas only one of each (except Dantes) and I have yet to try any of them and don't want to be let down.
Or I could go with one of my favourite reliable  longer smokes this year, namely Siglo III, RASS or Don Alejandro.

What should I do ?

And what will your special cigar be on Christmas Day?

Have a good day :)

All depends on the weather.  First choice is an '06 HUSW @fabes sent that I've been saving for when I have the time to appreciate it.  Other choice is a Partagas Chicos (or 2).

I will go Winnie as well I am sure. Probably 2014 ARG code revisit. Last time they were on point. If there’s time I may break down and finally smoke a pair of ‘97 LGC Tainos (extremely extremely generous gift from@cigsid) with my neighbor on his heated porch/cigar room. I’ve been saving them for a special occasion but I don’t think I can wait anymore!

I don’t have the high roller sticks that most have, yet. Probably go with a VR Don A early on and then a Monte PE after dessert.

Yeah if I find myself in the mood for a shorter smoke ,  the Petit Edmundo will definitely be an option for me as well.

I'm planning to smoke a RyJ Capuletos. I split a 6er 3 ways with friends, so i have 2 to try.

I feel like the berry/cherry notes of RyJ go so well with Christmas, and why not smoke a LE I haven't tried yet. Plus the wrapper on em are absolutely drop dead gorgeous, that awesome reddishness

Christmas is usually pretty busy for me so I tend to go with something tried and true.  Last year I had a D4 and it was great.  This year I'm thinking of cracking open a box of 898.

Normally the same situation for me on the day itself. something i dont have to think much about maybe a hupc, short, monte pe, rascc.

Over the holiday period though i try and smoke some larger sticks i have some lusis and scdlh la fuerza that might do the job

To be sure, I'll have a nice cigar on Christmas, but not my best. Christmas day is just too hectic in our household, I'll be cooking most of the day, and entertaining with family the rest of the day, so I won't get a chance to sit quietly for 2 hours and smoke.

Most likely I'll have a morning smoke, which may be a Monte #5 or another shorty. Then after dinner I'll have to smoke something in about an 60-90 mins. so I'm thinking La Gloria Cubana MdO #1 or Monte #3, maybe a Des Dieux.

Now, Christmas Eve, I may pull some of my finer smokes out. I smoked an ERDM Tainos last Christmas eve, and I haven't had another since because I only have one left. That might get the call this Christmas. I also have a 1992 Punch Super Selection #2 gifted to me by a good BOTL before he passed away. I may smoke the SS2 in his memory. Then I have a pair left of 2002 Partagas Lusitanias, so one of those my be sacrificed by fire.

I guess I'm lucky; I'll be spending Christmas on Cape Cod with my wife and her family. All very low key, we order Chinese take out for dinner. So I plan on having a few cigars. La Gloria 4 for the morning. Maybe a Monte tubos for afternoon. After dinner I don't know, I picked up a box of the La Gloria Inmensas off the aged stock sale and xmas will be 30 days down. Maybe thats a good time to give one a shot they're Jun 14. Anybody have experience with these cigars and think they're ready or need more time?

Christmas Day doesn’t bring much down time since I’m entertaining the wife and children or running around to visit family, so instead I’ve set aside two days next week to enjoy my “Christmas cigars.” Both days will be sunny and warm, so they will be something to look forward to! To celebrate, I’m going to enjoy a SLR regional exclusive I picked up from my trip to Havana this year, and an H. Upmann Royal Robusto. I received a few of my first boxes from 24:24 recently, but they won’t be ready until next year at the earliest. Maybe next Christmas!

After my wife and kids go to bed, I will retire to my basement office and light up my first Sir Winston.  Yes, the one in the sampler.  Christmas is a day for a special cigar.  Yes it's always a busy, crazy day.  But it's crazy for everyone and my family won't be staying up late.  I won't have time to smoke anything earlier in the day.

I had my first Siglo VI last Christmas and was quite disappointed with it.  However I'm still relatively new to CC.  I've recently developed an appreciation for Cohiba, esp. CORO.  I'm starting to pick up some of the more subtle flavors in macras such as Cohiba and Upmann, which I used to think were both overrated.  Not anymore.

Christmas is too busy for me to have a cigar, but New Years, well, that's the Mummer's Parade.  I think I going to start with a Monte #2 from 2014 in the morning with my Irish Coffee.  Then move onto a Padron 1964 after lunch and finish with a BBF at the after party on 2 Street.

I think a petit edmundo with coffee when I wake up, a partagas 898 after things die down from presents, and then a behike 56 for the evening. 49b400dacc9717105409afee8b368033.jpge6d26afa202e8b0b0acfaa64c3fa0b63.jpg

Monte PE seems to be the popular choice. It would be a perfect late evening smoke, after the kids are asleep, with some black coffee and marzipan chocolates. Then again La Fuerza would be nice after dessert, or maybe a VRDA if I am feeling up to it.....

Ah, first world problems ;-)

Love those PEs with a bit of coffee.
