Son Ben lost his iphone from the top pocket two weeks ago, leaning over the pontoon to pull up a fish.

The look on his face for the next 5 seconds............Priceless.

Nope, not the only moron.  Maybe the only moron I know to do that, but not the only moron.

Thanks.  Good to know that I am not alone in my moment(s) of idiocy....

I always prefer to use a tube when carying a single. Nothing in the shirt pocket but pens

Thankfully never in the can, but did lose 2 to the river while smoking and fishing. Still remember both vividly--a D4 only half way puffed, and a RASS, mostly done. Call me an idiot, but I did learn something: no matter how quickly you grab it back it can't be relit. Plus the enjoyment of smoking while fishing--and never suffering any major loss like burning my fly line--makes sacrificing a couple Cubans to the fish gods a small price to pay.

Now that my spine only bends below the navel, and above the sternum, this has become much more of an issue for me.
On the bright side, I can now preform a nearly effortless Robot dance, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

I have a bit of a cleanliness bug, I don't follow the 5 second rule. If it hits the floor and can't be cleaned with a disinfectant wipe out it goes.

Neither do I, but the other way. If it hasn't been trod on, shat on or eaten by ants it's fair game. I spend a lot of time outside, have the constitution of an ox and rarely get ill. Brush off the dirt and smoke it or eat it accordingly.
And a zip or button on a front shirt pocket is a must.

Sad to hear recently that the 5 second rule has been debunked. Bacteria get on dropped stuff immediately. I am NOT sure if that applies to mold (not plume).
