Knilas Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 $88 USD. Any more than that and they're hogwash. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
encephalization Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 The German RGs are still easy to find (2013 release?, petit piramides) for more or less the release retail of 100~ euros for a ten box. Not a bad cigar, very mild but more complex than the regular productions. I can't see the 88s going for over $200, I doubt I'd even be interested over 150. There are plenty fantastic cigars (even REs) that you can get for that price. Will be interesting to see though, hoping for something great!

That's about 47% more production than most ERs which typically come in at 6,000. That's going to knock the price down some. And as others have pointed out, the RG marca is not generally a hot seller. I'm actually lowering my price expectations from my previous post to $140-160, and that may even be a bit high. I think this will actually be a very reasonably priced ER ultimately. 1

Well, the number of boxes doesn't really play that big of a role, it is the number of total cigars. There have been 10-20-25-30 and even 50 counts of RE drops. With the exception of a small number of (mainly South American?) releases, I think the lower number for REs now is set at 25,000 cigars. 88,880 cigars is not remarkably high. A few recent examples are RA's 35th Phoenician (which is an expensive and fairly HTF cigar) which totaled 250,000 cigars, SLRs from last year (150,000 made), the 2013 PL for Spain (200,000 made) e t c. I do hope you're right though. At $130 or so, I wouldn't mind a few boxes.
jackupster Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 In the $140-150 range and I will grab a box. I got 2 of the RACA and still would consider a 3rd. They are that good! This one will depend on how much I like it.
Akela3rd Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 darn metric system....147? <_>5.78 of yer US/UK inches. Thunder & Lightening '75-'15
Akela3rd Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 5.78 of yer US/UK inches. Thunder & Lightening '75-'15Sorry, just realized that 5.78 is metric configuration. 147 = a gnat's cock over 5 3/4 inchesThunder & Lightening '75-'15 1
skalls Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Using the LGC release and doing some math (accurate or not who knows) I'm guessing $154 (US). I would buy 1-2 boxes at 160 or less. 1 if under 200. None if over 200. 1
earthson Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 They'd have to wow me with the price. If it made for a creamier smoke, I'd pay maybe on par with the RA Superiores. But i'll bet you I'd still prefer the pc in the end.

A slightly thicker Britanicas. 1

Yes...a Británicas Extra, on account of its 48/64 of an inch ring gauge rather than the 46 ring gauge than the 2009 Ramon Allones Celestiales Finos Asia Pacifico Regional Edicion had, for example.

True, I was a bit sloppy in the post. 60,000 total sticks is typical, and 6,000 boxes of 10 has been becoming the most common format for the ERs in recent years, but I was fairly unclear there. Yes, production numbers for ERs do vary, but it is still the case that 50,000-70,000 is the standard production target for most. Sure, you have the odd Phonecio 35, recent SLRs that have reached 150,000 sticks and the PL Secretos at a whopping 200,000 sticks, albeit a very small vitola for an ER. So I'll go ahead and say that 88,880 cigars isn't a ton, but for a smaller RG, low-demand marca it's going to put some downward pressure on prices. I think this may be priced similarly to some of the <49 RG recent LCDH releases like the Punch 48 and HdM Elegantes. 1
JC67 Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 something horrible like $400 AUD is about where cigar pricing is headed in this neck of the woods $ 205 USD

polarbear Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 A retailer here has posted about these on his facebook page Most of the Aussie guesses are pretty close, unfortunately@El Presidente, is disclosing the pricing of another Aus based retailer on this RE breaking forum rules?

Jeremy Festa Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Whatever the price is, I like the format and the marca. Keen.
Wertman Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 I am guessing 179. I have no rational for picking that number it just came out of my hands when I typed. But thinking about it 18 dollars a cigar seems reasonable.

Wicked Advertised price was $520au per box but he offered a "Promo Code" that brought the price down to $400au per box Based on Aus Pricing I'm guessing US price will be between $225 and $250

I can't sell under $400 AUD officially. However we will do some "group orders" to cut down on shipping and pass those savings on international price will be $195 USD. Again we will roll in some multiple box options to bring the price down. They will be available next week. 1
