Popular Post Overproof
If you grew up in the 90's you most likely grew up listening to grunge. Soundgarden we're at the forefront of that scene. Badmoterfinger was the shit. Great memories of seeing them live at the Big Day Out here in Australia. Terrible loss http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-05-18/chris-cornell-sound-garden-and-audioslave-rock-star-dies/8539108

It sadly seems so, and furthermore, he did not indicate signs of depression or struggle to those close around him. This is just so sad, to me it seems like yesterday that Soundgarden ruled the world with SuperUnknown, an album that floored me for how great it was (Spoonman and Black Hole Sun were the big singles off it) and made me grow in my musical appreciation of alternate tunings! If what happened in his Detroit hotel room wasn't an accident (there is still debate in my homeland about Michael Hutchence), it just reinforces how important it is to talk about things with other people when life gets hard. MIKA27
Yeah, massive loss with this news, one of the best voices ever. Love his music, especially the James Bond theme to Casino Royale - Still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it. Nothing compares to his voice.

cigcars
A damn shame and too bad. Why off yourself when there could be and is so much else that you can do if you're that unhappy? Nonetheless, may God have mercy on you, man. RIP, Chris
MIKA27
Watch Chris Cornell Play 'Black Hole Sun' With Soundgarden Hours Before His Death Hours before his sudden death at the age of 52, Soundgarden's Chris Cornell played what would be his final show last night in Detroit. Since the band reunited in 2010 after a 13-year hiatus, Soundgarden performed regularly, seemingly unchanged by time. They retained their raw energy, and, most importantly, Cornell never lost his beautiful and wrenching growl. The sound that defined grunge music had survived long after the genre had faded into subsequent generations of trends. Last night on stage at the Fox Theatre, Soundgarden played many of those greatest hits that launched a new era of rock music and helped to anchor Sub Pop Records. On stage, Cornell—whose cause of death has not been released—sounds like the singer we've known for nearly 30 years. His voice had the same strength in retained for decades, however he might appear a little sluggish in some of these fan shot videos from the performance. Though he never assigned any specific meaning to Soundgarden's biggest hit "Black Hole Sun," Cornell told Rolling Stone in 1994 about the meaning of the lyric "Times are gone for honest men": Quote It's really difficult for a person to create their own life and their own freedom. It's going to become more and more difficult, and it's going to create more and more disillusioned people who become dishonest and angry and are willing to fuck the next guy to get what they want. There's so much stepping on the backs of other people in our profession. We've been so lucky that we've never had to do that. Part of it was because of our own tenacity, and part of it was because we were lucky. Watch as Soundgarden plays "Black Hole Sun" and "Fell on Black Days" at Cornell's last ever show in Detroit below:
