Must have been that packer's first day on the job.

"What? You mean I also have to put cigars in the tubes, before they go in the cardboard box?!"

when i used to bitch about being short-numbered in a box, you would always simply say "tax". and that was tghe end of that.

it does remind me of doing a brief stint in a law firm at nerang - a favour that could never be repaid - and the secretary (who really should have been a model as she was not einstein) would always whinge about taking a copy of every correspondence (pre email etc). she never understood why. i would tell her it was for our file. she still could not see why. after a few days, i finally found out why she thought it was odd. she had put every piece of correspondence, every letter, in the file. not one had been sent. she was the same secretary who, (when i was doing this, i had just moved and was sending out changes of address notices) instead of sending a letter to the dodgy penny dreadful i had some shares in, actually sent them a letter telling them that the australian stock exchange had changed its address to PO Box xxx at nerang.

What was the stock (generally or specifically) and what became of it?  Just curious  :)

@El Presidente, time to check in your good doctor mate to monitor current blood pressure, perhaps? Just sayin'! (Cause it must take its toll relying on such incompetence for your livelihood?)

I know that's awful, but from a certain perspective that's amazing too.

Only in Cuba could you do that and not lose your job.

Does it say anywhere on the order "tubos que contengan cigarros"?

That was my thought as well.  This wasn't your usual disinterested cigar factory employee, rather someone feeding their family for a week or two.

Would think so, too. This is not a case of "forgotten", it's a case of been "stolen". Otherwise, the cedar-wrap would be missing as well.

Wow. 375.00 worth. No small issue here. A friend of mine is a Cuban national and has family in the business. The factories have a rep for lots of stuff leaving out the back door

I suspect many of them resurface as seconds on the secondary market.
