Popular Post lafabrica
there were 2+ year old posts and wanted to update this location. although you use SXM airport in st. maarten, this LCDH is on the northern french side. crossing the border is a non-event. one way cab fare from SXM was $20 USD. its located on 'rue de sandy ground' at 'rue de president kennedy'. cab driver offered to take me "my friend, i know a better place for cigars" - don't fall for that. overall, easy to find. first time here - not like other LCDH i've visited - small space (and the separate room on the right looks under construction) with no lounge, no outdoor seats, no drinks, just retail. fair selection of lighters & cases, good selection of cigars. the owner that i exchanged emails with (hours) was not there, another female working this day. limited english, but communication was easy...she knew her cigar speak. thanks to all the posters for their suggestions from this thread: i walked in with full intentions of trying several of those suggested, viewed the entire selection (small space) and asked for the price list. prices listed in euro, but was told a one-to-one with USD. i noticed a general range in between havana and cancun prices. some stock was not up to the quality i wanted, some were not available. all of these sticks i purchased are new for me, so i will taste my way and find what fits my palate. most singles had box codes from 2014, the RA is MUR Oct 12. i admit that i went with what looked good and 46 ring... and all 3 vitolas for BHK were available (singles, not sure of boxes)

wade1979
A 10 min puddle jumper to St, Barth can yield fantastic smokes. Great Casa 5 mins away from airport. Plus the flight in is worth it on its own.

HoyoFan
@matt123 What are your guys thoughts about bringing some smokes with me. I know there's a LCDH on the island, but I've got some great Montes and Hoyo's that have been resting for a long time that I'd love to fire up given that it will be February and freezing in NY but warm in St. Martin. cigaraholic
Always bring cigars with you. You may not find anything you like or the prices may put you in shock. And right now you can bring back 100 cigars from anywhere!

GrouchoMarx
I was in St. Martin a couple years ago. Didn't know about the LCDH on the French side (where we stayed) - but we did go to the big "tourist market" in Philipsburg (near the airport, and cruise ship terminal). First, if you do go there - ALL the Cubans in that market are fake. There's probably 30 little booths that sell them and I suppose the "cruisers" get suckered in. Now, up the street there IS a REAL cigar store selling REAL Cubans (don't recall if it was LCDH or not). Its on the main street, about a block from the beach and a few blocks north of the casino. I got a SLB of sig5's when I was there for a reasonable price and it was fully authentic.

Yes, Cigar Emporium and the La Casa on the French side are the only serious ones. Right behind the La Casa on the harbour side there is a guy selling cigars from Cuba. If you ask him where the La Casa del Habanos is located, he doesn't know..

Ole
Concerned about the status of the shop located very close to the harbor. With the advance warning. I am sure she took care of her hundreds of boxes of nice cigars. However, in the best case the shop is flooded. Any information about the Le Casa? Smallclub
95% of Saint-Martin is destroyed. Even if the cigars have been sheltered or evacuated, they will probably be put on sale elsewhere…
