A friend of mine wants to make an AR 9mm pistol and all I could ask was "why?" Of course there are various likes and dislikes based on taste. Once built, I am sure I will say, "cool." Another friend of mine (into his 308s, which I like very much by the way) likely thinks the same of me building a Blackout. I have never been a fan of the 30-30 (underpowered and generally useless, MHO) and here I am making a Blackout...! Good call guys. I thought I was cleaver noticing the lack of suppressor! Silly me! -R As much as I would love an AR 9mm Carbine, getting them to run reliably is another ball of wax. Waiting on my $200 stamp to come in so I can put a stock on my 8" AAC 300Blk...thanks to ATF 41F it will likely be another 6 months.

My neighbors up at TNW build a really nice unit called the Aero Survival Rifle. I have one in 9 and one in .40 S&W. I love the takedown feature of these, My favorite is the Semi Sterling that Sarah got me for Christmas a few years ago. Nothing beats a classic. http://i.imgur.com/YOvHv.jpg 1
PigFish Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 There was a day when I would buy a new firearm for just about any reason. And for good reason considering todays cloud over lawful ownership. As a result, I bought one of these. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1dbkr3atdyg8wf1/2016-07-29 08.35.50.jpg?dl=0 Now the funny thing is, I have actually no use for this. I don't shoot it (trigger function is absolutely horrendous) I am not a fan of 9mm anyway. On top of that, and due to some state restrictions, I cannot even sell the damn thing! I used to be a lot like a newer smoker. I wanted (and bought) just about any firearm that I thought I wanted for any reason! I am not like that anymore. Not with cigars, not with firearms! Like cigars, I am glad I bought a lot of what I bought when I bought it, but this is an example of a mistake for me. Just because someone made one, is no longer a motivator. I have always wanted to build a 338 Lapua. It would cost a bundle, and I would likely never shoot more than 500 rounds though it before I kicked the bucket. It is kinda' funny for me, in that I actually took something that I really wanted to build, considered my age (and of course the cost) and said I am just not going to pursue it anymore. Instead I will buy new triggers for my Glocks, some better optics for firearms that I already possess and just enjoy what I have. I have to admit that I have been having a lot of fun with 80% lowers. I am going to get a Cerakote kit and maybe exercise some creativity in finishing some of them. The problem now is, all my buddies are asking me to make one for them!!! That of course, is a problem!

I would like to see it when you get it done! -P

Fosgate Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 This is one of the main reasons I built an AR pistol. Woman was killed a couple years ago driving at night and hit a pile of coons near my fathers. Hit a big group and its like hitting a snowbank and she slid off the road and rolled. I nearly smoked a group at my fathers and that made my heart skip a beat. I wanted something compact in the car. Should have seen their faces the next time I saw them. Camera flashes for everyone!!!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
PigFish Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Jesus, that is crazy! What now, a flame thrower!!!? -LOL 2
Mattygukas Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Sadly one of the funniest things I have seen in a while. I have an AR15 he could borrow for the next video

Ken Gargett Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 sadly, this sill is not even eligible for the darwin awards. you need to kill yourself first. there's a future headstone - "too pathetic for the darwin awards". soon as i saw guns and discussions on types etc, i thought right, forum fight. whacko. but then i realised that nothing i could ever say, or any stats, or directing attention to the endless and never-ending parade of atrocities and mass shootings, could ever be a more persausive argument against guns than this. but then i am sure he was a responsible gun owner right up to the moment he decided to shoot himself. 4

One does not have to die to be nominated. http://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2014-05.html

Fosgate Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 I still do not think I have found a better one than the guy that strapped a couple C-130 Jet Assist Takeoff Ordinance bottles to his car and went back in time. 1

Of course it could also mean a person that has a high probability of prematurely removing themselves from the gene pool. Impending removal if you will. Dad used to say, "Life is hard, and even harder when you're stupid."

Used to be only those who died could be nominated for the award. Those who survived their acts of stupidity only got an "honourable mention".

Lewinsky Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 You know there's something wrong with the world when firefighters have to issue public warnings about doing things like sticking your penis in a toaster: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/firefighters-rescue-mans-penis-toaster-2346520
