PigFish Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Lord save us from stupid people (you can read, people in the rap music industry if you like).... I would not watch the video. I won't give it a 'hit' because I refuse to support stupidity! But here is something that I did notice in the static picture. That AK has had the flash hider removed. More than likely, that flash suppressor was pinned to the barrel making the rifle a legal 16" in length. By removing the flash suppressor, this person has (likely) created what is referred to as and SBR or Short Barreled Rifle. SBR's need to be serialized and registered with DOJ, furthermore a tax needs to be paid and paperwork needs to be filed. If that fellow has not paid the tax on that firearm and registered it with the DOJ he is in trouble beyond being just stupid...! That is of course unless he is a felon, but I won't go down that road! -Piggy 1

topdiesel Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I am pretty sure it is against the law to shoot yourself. I am also pretty sure it is a felony in every municipality to discharge a firearm while driving. This guy will most likely be facing some charges. Hopefully he will be able to read his facebook comments in prison.

El Presidente Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 DT = all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce. For idiots .....we really should take away the ability to complete the latter. 1
jwr0201 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Rather than fame and respect, people are most likely to dismiss this idiot as just another dumb ass! He's damn lucky that the bullet path didn't change and take out some teeth! 2

By ATF standards the Sig SB15 is an arm brace and does not require the $200 Tax stamp. However, if he is caught shouldering it then it becomes an SBR and would not be in compliance with the NFA and faces severe repercussion. My little pistol build. https://goo.gl/photos/CRtN1EWzXvSHAWBbA With that said, I would be more inclined if he is not in violation of the ATF's 922(r) for configuration of imported weapons. Many guys fell into this violation with Yugoslavian SKS's. They removed the long stock flash suppressor that was designed to fire grenades from with a propellant round. However, by also not removing the bayonet and the grenade sites they were in violation of the 922(r). http://thegunwiki.com/Gunwiki/BuildSaigaVerifyCompliance 2

It looked like a buttstock to me, but I believe you are right. That one looks open to me, making it a arm brace. Good call! Did he place it against his body to shoot himself? That might just make it a SBR...! -LOL Like I said, I won't watch the video. Is that your AR pistol? Nice! Aimpoint PRO? Building a new 300 AAC myself. Have a Noveske upper coming on Saturday. Might just mount it on one of my 80% lowers, but have not decided yet. Found an amazing deal on a Trijicon VCOG and I cannot wait to put it all together. I have wanted a 300 Blackout for a long time now and I finally decided just to go ahead and make it. Not even done with that one and planning another.... -LOL This hobby is more expensive than cigars!!! Cheers my friend! -Ray 1

The brace is attached between the grip and the receiver. The rear trunnion on those is squared off at the back, blocking one from using a proper stock. I really hope he tries again. 1

I admit I am a bit behind on pistol conversions. A friend of mine wants to make an AR 9mm pistol and all I could ask was "why?" Of course there are various likes and dislikes based on taste. Once built, I am sure I will say, "cool." Another friend of mine (into his 308s, which I like very much by the way) likely thinks the same of me building a Blackout. I have never been a fan of the 30-30 (underpowered and generally useless, MHO) and here I am making a Blackout...! Good call guys. I thought I was cleaver noticing the lack of suppressor! Silly me! -R

Fosgate Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 I'm not even sure if he shot himself with a 9mm. From the report of the round and the vent rib barrel I'm guessing it was a .22 pistol. Also note they are I. A vehicle with others and no one was complaining how loud the report was. Yeah, that was an AF pistol I slapped together. Sold it though. Been an expensive month for me as week with ordering a Larue Tactical PredatOBR 16 5.56, 2 suppressor cans and over 4000 rounds of ammo. Probably be waiting for another month or two for the rifle to be built. Been going back and forth on optics on that. The new Trijicon MRO is just an amazing red dot that I got to recently play with. In the end though decided. It to. Plan now is to put a Vortex Razor gen II 1-6 on it. Really like the versatility of short/medium range of that scope in so many ways.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
